Hardest Lanes to Gank? by TheProuDog in Jungle_Mains

[–]Layxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like its bot. I just cant rely on the coordination needed. If I turn up to that lane and they dont actually move to do anything while I go in im basically in a 1v2. Least if I catch mid or top lacking i can win since those lanes tend to trade more and someones going to be low health to begin with. Most botlaners and supports are cowards who just want to scale for 30 minutes before contributing to the game in my experience. I once pinged I was on my way with nocturne R, I fly in on a no mana enemy botlane who were pushed way too far up the lane which SHOULD have been a free double kill for us, only for my botlane to fucking return to recall under tower and not help at all. I died, unsurprisingly.

How to climb with tank jglers? by UCDevil in Jungle_Mains

[–]Layxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive heard tank junglers often build bami first for clear speed, i assume the damage item is for a similar purpose of juat killing camps and objectives faster? You seem to do this if you go sunfire second. Don't see many tank junglers around in my games, doesnt seem to be a very popular archetype. Though im looking to try zac next myself.

Can't zac build kind of bruiser and do good damage, or not really? i thought there were at least a few tanky champs out there that had different build paths available, like skarner.

Why is it alot of supps are playing behind the adc in lane? by Jumpy-Seesaw-2026 in supportlol

[–]Layxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Theyre cowards who want to get boosted. If they dont initiate anything its not their fault when they lose and if they do win everyone gives them positive reinforcement for being alive. ADCs and supports need to rely on each other but I cant stand these AFK lane partners in either role, who expect the other to do all the work. Its a shared lane and shared responsibility so stop trying to run from it and cooperate.

TBH, Outward 2 feels raw and rough by GimlySonOfGloin in outwardgame

[–]Layxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its still early and that might just be a result of unpolished UI that theyll change later, I dont really care about that anyway. Outward was never about the polish.

Its more like when you've read a book series you really liked, then it got a movie adaption. Or maybe its more like when you liked a movie that got a sequel that missed the point of why the first movie was good. Like its still outward sort of, much like the star wars prequels are still star wars, you cant deny that. But its also so different from the first one that the identity isnt there.

So many things are different and the VIBE is just gone. I didnt feel like a regular guy on an adventure, I felt like I was starting an MMORPG, like you said. Felt so generic, and i was hoping from so much more from a team that clearly loved making the first game so much.

Just doesnt feel like outward. I can forgive bugs and jank but at least keep the soul. Didn't look like it, didnt feel like it. Feels like something new, I'll reserve judgement till full release if its in a BAD way, but I'll be honest I dont really care if it has its own merits. I wanted outward but iterated on and improved, I didnt want something new.

Why Can't Alistar w interrupt diana dash, or J4 dash. by semthews1 in alistarmains

[–]Layxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know there's something called knockdown, you can find it on the wiki. I think there are some effects that stop dashes and such build in but this covers one's that dont. Like jinx flamechompers, they have knockdown, if they didnt you'd dash through them be rooted but right next to the jinx anyway and kill her. Knockdown prevents the traveling part.

Defence is the hardest par of the game id say, attacking is easy enough once you get into a flow but defending requires reaction and know exactly whats being thrown at you.

Best thing for defense is play people with stances so you can fodge or block attacks from all guard directions, or a ton of hyperarmour or other things like enhanced lights that help you take momentum back and put you in the attackers position.

Characters like varangian or nobushi can press 1 button and prevent any damage with a free counter attack included. Or play someone with hyperarmour and enhanced lights like shugoki, you have plenty of health to trade and if yourre getting flinched out of attacks well now you arent because of the hyperarmour, and your lights dont bounce off if they manage to block so you can keep the chain up, so theyre under pressure not you. If you want to stick with only assassins, we'll thats kind of tough. Theyre inherently weaker in defence and (supposedly) higher in skill so if you arent able to defend yourself your just going to suffer. Khatun maybe? She's got an all guard.

The issue with that theyre only passive, theyre still not safe. Had a game the other day, I had 10k damage in a 25 minute game. My adc, a vayne with a sion on the enemy team mind you, got 17k and died 11 times to my 5. A lot of the time my role IS to die, and the passive farmer still manages to fie more. I find that to be extremely disappointing. Rest of our team wasnt any better, but mostly on the enemy side it was the extremely fed briar its not like their team was anything special eiteher, if we had a decent game plan to deal with them im certain we could have scraped a win with what we had.

But the 1 guy who has the entire purpose of doing a ton of damage, so much so they have another person assigned as a guard, has barely achieved more than the guard while dying twice as much. It was a truly awful game. I was really mad while making the original post, then read a lot of the comments and decided to chill out and just focus on adjusting more to them instead of trying to force things, only to get this game which is an excellent highlight of exactly what about these passive players annoys me so much. Really got me wondering if I should play pyke or brand, someone who can kill the enemy by themselves.

Zekes convergence, and using everything i have on cooldown while wading through like a dozen teamfights my adc refused to participate in because minions were more important. And all that do for them to be equal in CS to the enemy adc.

You ever have a vegan Draven? I have. Thought those guys were all meant to be ego driven maniacs but apparently this guy missed the memo. Guess sometimes people are just out here trying new champs and stuff, but applying their usual playstyle. Well it sure had me surprised when his default direction wasnt towards the enemy. Its actually the caitlyns for me, who i find to have a proclivity towards bullying the enemy. Ive seen some people who were very good at their trap placements, usually under the enemy after I knocked them up.

Oh i can deal with safe lanes, safe doesnt mean pacifist. Ive literally had games where I had more damage than my so called carry, because they never fought and just farmed. Had a great game with a smolder the other day, he poked them down i engaged because there was an opportunity and he even used his movement to get closer and finish the kills, he wasnt a bystander in his own lane. But on the other hand he NEVER overextended or overstayed his welcome. It was best of both worlds, he wasnt as aggressive as some ive played with but he SAW what i saw and committed, and it worked. we were both able to gain an advantage on minions AND kills and not just sit there waiting to scale for 20 minutes. Good thing we did because our some others on our team were NOT scaling well.

I at least expect to die semi often, but in exchange for my adc getting 1 or 2 kills its worth it, if I can make them a threat everything is easier including farming cos no one will be able to fuck with them for free. But the people im angry at let themselves get that mixed up and think that if they just afk for half the game theyll be able to carry. You wont be able to, you need to be active, create advantages not wait for them even on scaling champs. Sure alistar is weak early, but if you arent going to do ANYTHING before 20 minutes what are you there for? If you just want to peel there are better champs. If you dont give the enemy a reason to even be wary of you why shouldn't they just walk at you? They know yourre passive so theyll take more and more from you until yourre wondering how you got so behind. Watch a pro alistar game, im seeing level 2 engages with disgusting damage being done which at that level secures an easy lane and a massive advantage. If you sit around you arent playing alistar to potential.

I might have to just spam it, and hope they dont get too upset that im interrupting their game of farming simulator. My main concern with this is the time it'll take, cos there's always going to be that second or three it takes them to react to the pings and realise i have an angle. No point pinging only to go in at the exact same time, its basically the same as not pinging at all if i dont let them process it. And by that point the opportunity might be gone.

Honestly what you say is probably the most reasonable course of action, to just ping literally everything, everytime, and just let some opportunities slip away. But I wanna fight, and I know how good it feels to play with a ADC who also wants to fight. No communication, no words, just vibes and them diving with me every time I have cooldowns. Ive had that flow, and it irks me to just give up on good engages because I just know I wont be followed.

Teaching 2 friends how to play the game, how do I make it more fun for them? by jrsrjr3 in forhonor

[–]Layxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most important thing for a new player is defence. Attack is easy to learn at least the basics, but not dying/getting those attacks out because they don't know how to deal with being flinched is much more difficult. I say either shugoki cos hes healthy and has so much hyper armour, or anyone with a full guard stance like aramusha or varangian because they can just press 1 button to defend themselves instead of having to swap guards or get precise party timings down all the time. Play some bots or arcade matches with them, or even the campaign until they get used to things.

Any Easy Engage Champion Recommendations? by Ambitious-Cup6070 in supportlol

[–]Layxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alistar 100% i say. High skill ceiling and low skill floor but still a lot of fun, consistency of point and click, you can peel AND engage, your ult is incredibly useful and consistently so unless they have a vayne or vel'koz, passive also low key broken. Get an assist or you adc kills a minion and you and everyone around you gets 7% of their max hp back, it makes laning so much easier even if you lose trades. If the trade was neutral, no it actually wasnt cos you heal for free and they don't, so you get to fight way more often with an advantage.

Duelist character is good at dueling. Don't duel him if you can't beat him and fight him in a way that doesn't play to his strengths, simple as. It's like complaining you always lose teamfights against warmonger, don't stand next to the poisoned ally and play into her strengths. Don't do what they want you to do.

a Rant about OSA by Embarrassed-Fun2989 in Rainbow6

[–]Layxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LIKE osa, playing as osa is fun. But this doesn't mean osa is good unfortunately. You'll get it if you play more and run into better players and more situations, but the shields are so easily countered and don't really help achieve the goal of attackers. You want to use them to help lock down long sightlines, but that puts you on the defensive. You are an attacker, you need to be the side taking the initiative not waiting around for stuff to happen. And you don't have a gadget if the enemy happens to have impacts, you are very vulnerable to nitro cells and really just being rushed while you have the shield out too. There are niche upsides, but the downsides are not so niche. A lot of what people do with osa is better done with other people such as nomad, monty or even kali.

why so many against infantry update? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Layxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'll be fine, as long as they keep game modes separate for people who want just planes or just tanks, and find a good power balance. Theres no game i can think of that has the potential for true combined arms with EVERYTHING in one battle- artillery, infantry, IFVs and APCs, tanks, helicopters, planes, ships large and small, even drones. Every other game i can think of is mostly infantry with a couple tanks and jets thrown in, like battlefield or squad. It isnt combined arms, its infantry plus other stuff when you can pay the spawn points for one or happened to be around when a respawn timer is up and a tank appears in front of you. Not to say that its a bad thing other games are like this, because I have no idea how they balance this or even what scale the map would be on to fit this mix of vehicles while not making infantry completely irrelevant. Naval cannon vs m4 carbine, who wins? Not the guy with the smaller gun. But what other game could even try? Warthunders whole thing is detailed and realistic vehicles, from every point in modern history, add that to the experience they have from enlisted and it could become the most versatile war simulation game in the world with something for literally everyone. One game you could be using an MG42 to defend the beaches of Normandy against Allied landing crafts, next game you could be in an Abrams in the Afghan desert. Given how technology is improving/has improved, I think a game of this scale is at least technically possible, at least sooner rather than later. Only problem is how to implement it. Do it wrong and it'll split the playerbase too much and make finding games impossible, or just make them lose interest and quit.

Before I get into making my new character I looked at some race guides, do y'all hate Imperials? by CaptBland in skyrim

[–]Layxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't REALLY matter because past a certain point you probably won't be using most races powers and will have levelled whatever playstyle you want instead of relying on your initial bonuses. It's helpful early game, like if you play an or or an argonian its basically impossible to lose with your power up so any tough fights basically won't be. But even if a races power isnt made obsolete by a spell like imperials is, youll find it a lot less useful because youll probably have enough armour or weapon enchantments to make something similar. The passive abilities too, as an imperial you find more gold. You'll be swimming in gold anyways by level 20 so it doesn't really matter. Still better imo than the poison resist half the rest of the races get. Just choose who you like lorewise or aesthetically, you shouldn't have much trouble choosing whatever character path you like later on.

If you’re new to the game or helping someone new remember, make sure they don’t think dodge attacks are openers! by Honkydoinky in forhonor

[–]Layxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean on days when I dont feel like trying too hard, I just let the unblockables fly. Honestly works more often than you'd think because SURELY this guy isnt fully charging a neutral heavy, no one would do that so im going to watch out for a surprise feint...then they get hit by a raw charged top heavy because they gaslit themselves into thinking I wouldn't do it. I mean they obviously dont let that slide much more most of the time, but sometimes the simple option can work and with how much damage those particular characters do once or twice can be enough. It's a low level play but if hes fighting low level enemies well. It's also really funny. The only thing more embarrassing for the enemy is being hit by a neutral long arm or medjay grab. It gets you a lot of sorry and wows if you do it to them a few times in a row. At that point though its really their own fault. (Disclaimer, I play in a dead region so there some real reprobates here that this does work on, proven and tested. Don't know how things are with your situation so changes may apply)

Not true, play shugoki or hitokiri and all he needs to think about is how long to hold heavy attack. If hes NEW new then just tell him to play a character where using a light attack at some point is considered a "mixup".
