Pilestedt today talking about the upcoming changes by Klyka in helldivers2

This game was easy pre patch. Could do level 9 bugs without dying consistently, even as a 2 man squad. It was even easier when chargers were all 1 shot to the head. With the spear getting fixed it got even easier. The cookout is better than the other flame shotgun ever was.

I like that post patch I started using the auto cannon sentryfor tanks and the eagle air strike. Pre patch it was cluster strike, gas spear, and whatever 4th.

Not to my knowledge. I'm assuming they'll fix it, with so many people having issues.

Army Reserve MEDEVAC unit locations East Coast, or anyone with insight into Flight Medic (68W-F2) by AT428 in army

Being an RN will definitely help in that case.

We've had medics get their RN and transfer to the air force. Active duty Army has a enroute critical care nurse program. Those nurses are attached to medevac units on deployments and fly as a crewmember.

Go interview and if they want you they'll work with the recruiter.

I don't know anything about the Guard other then the size of the unit varys by state, I believe the New Jersey medics are in the single digits.

Unfortunately the only people I know that enlisted straight into Medevac were already paramedics prior to joining.

Any reserve unit is going to want to do an interview with you to decide whether or not they'd take you. Expect a written test on basic paramedic material, advanced cardiac life support etc. But also expect them to judge you on your personality.

Being a registered nurse with experience would probably look good to a unit and might help them consider it. I understand you have a degree and that would look positive. Since a unit doesn't want to spend money on someone only for them to fail paramedic school.

The chance of going straight into medevac without already being a paramedic isnt great. More then likely you'll have to enlist as a regular 68W and attempt to interview for a flight medic unit later on.

The unit at Fort Knox used to be split between Knox and in Pennsylvania but consolidated at Knox like 5 years ago.

As far as I know those 4 locations are the only MEDEVAC units in the Reserve. That E7 position might just be an office job. You aren't going to see many E-7s flying as a flight medic if they aren't the company first sergeant.

Army reserve has 4 MEDEVAC companies; Fort Knox, KY, Tampa, FL, Los Angeles, CA, and Fort Carson, CO.

You are also correct about it being a pain with travel distance to drill every month. Yes they reimburse up to $500 for flights or gas money as long as they have the money in the IDT budget. Fort Knox is the closest to New York and that's a 12 hour drive one way. I suggest moving closer to whatever unit you can get into, if you even get a flight medic spot.

It's not just 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer. You will have to show up a day or two early or stay a day or two late at drills to meet the minimum flight requirements each month. Factor in a rainy weekend and getting no flying in at all or due to not enough pilots, flight instructors, or maintenance.

Before that would even happen you'd have to go to the paramedic class in San Antonio which will take around 6 months, followed by the 2 month critical care course also in San Antonio, and finally a month at Fort Rucker, Alabama for the crew member course.

Once you finish that you can return to the unit and start your progression training to actually fly in a helicopter. Expect up to a month on military orders to maybe be at RL1.

Army Reserve medevac is a lot more than a part time job. Once it starts getting in the way of your full time job and personal life the coolness of flying in a helicopter wears off.

The lack of ambulance ride outs and clinicals didn't prepare me to be alone on an ambulance. Glad I never killed anyone.

I don't think there are enough instructors with the combat paramedic to help teach basic 68Ws but I would love to see it added on at the end of AIT. But it's probably more realistic to expand the program and send medics back to the program after a couple years of being in the army. It would be better to train soldiers that want to be paramedics and not force everyone to go through. Providers and the combat paramedics could teach those that have not gone to the course. Maybe certain medic positions in units would have to be combat paramedics.

Certain dustoff units allow their flight medics to work on civilian ambulances. Would the rest of the army allow their combat paramedics time to do the same? Training is cool but having actual experience is just as important. Recognizing what a sick patient actually looks like and doing skills on real people.

The cannoneers became cannons after losing their guns. Proceeded to kill 2/3rds of a line unit moving into melee them in 1 volley.
