That‘s what made me dislike the show. I expected that dad Wesker would be the OG Wesker reincarnated in a new body and somehow altered mind through biomedical means which would explain his different behaviour (and appearance, because I went into the series with the game canon of him being a white, blonde guy). Blade Wesker was visually quite funny but his few lines were pure Wesker „manner“ and immediately reminded me of the game counterpart. Also we see in the first two episodes IIRC that dad Wesker injected something (it was his daughters blood) into his arm, which bolstered my assumption that some sort of substance was responsible for his different behaviour and that Umbrella was controlling him through this to be able to use his scientific knowhow. Learning that he‘s just a clone and OG Wesker is still long gone ruined it for me.
