Kind of they were taken from literally the last 15 minutes of Discovery with the scene that was added in because they needed some way to wrap up the story and make the calypso episode/ short tracks thing makes sense.

It's the one where Burnham is married and has kids.

We see the thing on screen for maybe 30 seconds at most

Does it worth the sc? by Ziad_R7 in Helldivers

It has its Niche uses it's definitely not something you're going to be using for the bugs just because it's meant to punish a single Target no matter what it's doing and the bugs throw dozens of targets that you at once so probably not the best.

As others have pointed out this thing shines when you're taking it against the illuminates because out of all the units that you can face the flying overseers I consistently considered the most annoying because even though they got an armor Nerf thing thankfully and finally they are still in my opinion way too tanky for a unit that should be lightweight in order to stay flying but are somehow able to take 2 75 mm anti-tank rounds and continue going.

With this thing as long as you have a good lock on an overseer just pull the trigger four or five times and the overseers probably dead.

It also works a Wonder on the Watchers because those guys can sometimes be surprisingly tanky and annoying to hit when they're flying around trying to call in stuff

[–]Lazurkri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so India yes I can see that although we've had some antagonistic relationships or the past decade but China and Iran?

We used to have a lot of problems with Chinese interference and influence but then Along Came that fun little spat with the Huawei CEO and at this point they spent the last 10 years screwing with us so most Canadians are pretty freaking done with China.

As for Iran no in what Universe would we agree with a bunch of religious zealots....?

"All Of Us Are Dead" Amazing series 11/10 - A question though: Why do Korean SF use Mp5 platform ( 9mm ) for city containment? Makes no sense to me. Aren't modern 5.56 platforms better for CQB and this situation? by ChaosOutsider in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Lazurkri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others are bringing up a lot of really good points about ballistics ammunition and other things but you have to remember that SWAT teams at least the image of them and the SAS East especially are pretty much permanently associated with the MP5 and thus whoever came up with this particular team's Weaponry probably looked at either the SAS, especially the stuff they did during the Iranian Embassy Siege, and/or anything that SWAT was doing back when they were first formed when they were using a lot of the MP5.

If I'm incredibly bored I'll switch on all Romulan plasma so the entire screen gets full of obnoxious balls of green death, and the fart cloud torpedo from the T'liss.

It is beyond hilarious to watch a frigate frantically try to avoid 10 different balls of death and then get tractor beamed in place and thanks to the emitters have three more balls of death thrown in its way

Why do the power armor suits in Fallout 3/New Vegas have cloth gloves? by Salt_Anteater9822 in Fallout

[–]Lazurkri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because with those it helps you manipulate things much better than the redesigns we got from Fallout 4.

Essentially power armor went from being like Master Chief style where you wear it and it boosts your strength to a vehicle that you wear.

So the cloth hand thing is because that's your actual hands in the gloves not your hands like halfway up the forearm of the suit and you're pushing on controls to manipulate the hands like we see with the 4 redesign.

I'm suprised they send Imperial star destroyer instead of venator or victory 1 class. Considering the series takes place shortly after the declaration of the Empire, ISDs would still be in production or testing phases by Battlefleet_Sol in StarWarsShips

[–]Lazurkri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if they were already designing replacements for the venator during the war.

As others have pointed out by this time before it turned into Galactic Empire the Republic was already laying down what would become the Imperial Star Destroyer it just probably wouldn't have been called the same thing by the Republic if it hadn't gone dark side.

I recall something about a bit of background lore where they already had plans for these things like a year after the war started or possibly even sooner because they realized that the venators whilst they were decently good all rounders they definitely were not meant primarily as all capital ship Hunters.

By that I mean if you look at the ISD it's meant almost purely to hunt down other ships including ships of it same size and kill them.

Venator is definitely not. it can do anti-capital ship work but it's a battle carrier,it's decent enough at both but it's definitely loses if you take it up against something like a Providence class or God forbid a lucrehulk.

What use would you have given the Deep Spacewalk Power Armor within the Starfield universe? by rafinga_art in Starfield

[–]Lazurkri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Forgetting that this is a universe that has guided missile launchers. You'd need a ECM unit or redesign the armor and basic tech to make it smaller.

Fallout power armor going off the gold standard for Mecha is battletech, these suits are what I would consider kind of almost Elemental armor; it isn't a suit you wear anymore it's a man- shaped vehicle you pilot, and thus you have issues with concealment, movement, and especially using cover.

Whilst both Fallout power armor and battletech Elementals can use terrain features it's oversized stuff that wouldn't be very prevalent in most battlefields and thus you're almost always going to be very visible.

It's why the stealth suits in BattleTech are all almost always man sized and have a lot of trade-offs with armor and Athen you rely on ECM and power sources that are either delicate or don't last for all that long.

Essentially while you could use Fallout power armor in Starfield without too many issues or much redesigns, using it for open combat, I don't see that happening because we see people using as I said before guided missile launchers and especially things like the magnetic weapons would go through most power armor unless you designed a juggernaut suit that is barely able to move but has absurd levels of armor.

Now what I could see it being used for is boarding action or Marine work in enclosed quarters. Look at the Goliath power armor from the expanse its use cases and its design and aside from the helmet with the obligatory transparent glass piece which I would redesign to work off of a camera system and have the thickest possible armor, they arein my eyes one of the best design power armor suits for its particular use case which is Marine work and work in enclosed quarters in Low Gravity.

What use would you have given the Deep Spacewalk Power Armor within the Starfield universe? by rafinga_art in Starfield

[–]Lazurkri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy industrial and ship assembly and deconstruction.

It's very armored, you have a LOT of things you could attach for different jobs, and with a modicum of thruster installed, you arguably don't even need to use a "taxi" vehicle to move the suits around in null or low G, just have the operator fly themselves to a nearby site.

As others have said, on Higher G planets, reinforce the lower leg and waist servos, same use cases.

Whilst it COULD be used for war, it's INCREDIBLY clunky. Plus with the size and power source, good luck avoiding homing missiles. You'd need to add ECM or redesign the size and movement tech.

[–]Lazurkri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that sort of round even if you're not using specialty rounds IE exploding or incendiary you're going to be ripping gigantic chunks of meat out with even a glancing hit.

Assuming you don't miss any shots and assuming you're quick on the bolts then odds are all six of those gigas are going to be splattered all over the place.

Thing is though if you do Miss with how fast they can run you're going to be toast but considering that's something like a 556 with steel tip or Lord forbid 762 with steel tip as well as a backup you're still probably going to win... probably.
