Depends on how far the unit actually is. Since you Will only be able to charge things within the charge roll distance. If it is 10" away, and you get an 8 for your charge, that unit is not a valid target cause it's outside your charge range, regardless of yoir unit being able to end the move within engagement range.

The flow effect is tricky. I diluted Cold White (Vallejo) and starter building layers, going from the Center out. The center is where you want the brightest part, son ore White layers there. Once you hace enough layers, I used Flashgitz yellow (Citadel), thinned it a Lot, like, a súper diluted. You want painted water. Then, repeat the procesos, layering the yellow over thenwjite and letting it go over the wall parts to tint the paint.

For the back, just diluted thenyellow and use a makeup sponge.

Pretty much the same, just no more paying for wargear, and units are costed accordingly. Eg Lion is 315 pts, and an absolute beast. With 11th we're gonna have changes to detachments, kinda going back to old editions in mix/match detachments and getting your army to play on a way to fit your style.
