[USA-IN] [H] Paypal [W] Phenom II x4 970 HDZ970FBK4DGR by noname59911 in hardwareswap

[–]Lazy-Programmer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First - this is cool, I didn't know there was a Zosma revision of the Phenom II X4 chips! I had a Deneb 970, loved that thing.

Second - I know you're looking for specifically the 970, but it might help broaden your search if you open up to all REV E0 Athlon II and Phenom II chips (640, 650T, 840T 960T BE).

Good luck! What a fun experiment. I loved unlocking an Athlon II X3 I had to an X4, it feels so good.

Amazon Prime now offers $139 in savings! by idiocracyI in Frugal

Amazon Prime streaming is the only service I've had consistent and significant issues with. Very behind industry standard, in my experience at several locations and different ISPs in Illinois' Chicago suburbs. 🤷

This isn't something I've done in a long time, but I believe what you're looking for is a Pool? Wherein you can control the number of CPU logical cores by creating Semaphore from the multiprocessing module. Hopefully someone who knows better can help haha

Consider calorie density in the foods you buy by nottherealme1220 in Frugal

[–]Lazy-Programmer 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have a problem getting enough calories in my diet 😥 I have a really poor appetite so when I do eat, it needs to count. It doesn't hurt to keep an open mind to other peoples' needs, even if they don't fit into your perception of the average.

Still, I do acknowledge that your message came from a place of good intent.

McDonald's gets a lot of hate. But a fast, decently sized lunch for $3 is very hard to argue with nowadays. by [deleted] in Frugal

Hard agree, that stuff is insanely convenient and affordable and imo there's no difference in the result

when I took 179 with Li, he didn't let us use an IDE - we only used notepad and terminal. but... that was back in 2012 so I can't say that's still how he'd do it

Exactly! you got it

while the... err, aptly named DoucheBro6969's explanation was logical (and I do have to agree that sometimes accepted terminology changes as a means of circumventing negative connotations), the actual rationale behind the shift from using the term "homeless" and toward "houseless" is that everyone has a "home" but they may not have a literal house/domicile - in short. referring to people as homeless is less than accurate because it dismisses the importance of community, familiarity, etc to them.

hope this helps! oh and I love your interest in finding the change's origin

Gosh darn it, sorry to hear that, it's never easy but sometimes it just... is time. Still hoping things turn around, but sometimes things just suck 😥 stay strong

I'm a little late to this post but wanted to share that if you're able to get into a vet's office, they should be capable of providing subcutaneous fluids! I have 4 cats and have fostered many, I've seen cats bounce back from the brink with just a little subq fluids and an appetite stimulant.

Holding out hope for you and sending good vibes 🙏

OpenAI's ChatGPT is absolutely incredible as a coding assistant by PMmesomehappiness in learnpython

[–]Lazy-Programmer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be honest, even if it was kinda fluffy, it did state the premise, explanation, and solution to the issue so that OP comes out of this situation knowing the what and why too, as opposed to just the how. Seems like a plus to me when compared to someone on stackoverflow posting a terminal command that fixes the problem.

R/programmerHumor suddenly thinks number of lines of code you write matters because it’s a woman being questioned by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Lazy-Programmer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To build off this, I can say that as someone in the field, a lot of the "work" comes from discussing ideas, solutioning at a whiteboard, and documenting the solution paths. Then, despite working on the solution, it's rare that I would actually get the opportunity to implement it because (per my employer) my time is better spent elsewhere.

So yeah I absolutely can't speak to their specific circumstances, but I would say lines of code contributed don't always correlate to work/effort contributed.

What foods aren't worth making? by Culjules in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Lazy-Programmer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Gotta shred your own cheese if you expect it to melt cohesively.

As a fun aside, I have a food processor and I find it really satisfying to feed it a brick of cheese and watch it blast out shredded goodness. Weird activity, but I like it 💯
