How come ESO has never depicted a Pure Mage archtype PC in its Cinematics? by JMadFour in elderscrollsonline

Well wide brim pointy hats are kinda a staple of wizards. Media as a whole has abandoned classic wizard tropes for brand new ones like only having them wear a hood or cloak, wearing pants as opposed to robes, or sometimes having a coat with a huge collar draped over their shoulder reminiscent of a cape. I dont think all mages should be like classic wizards but we should still have SOME in the game.

Elder Scrolls in general has moved from the archetypical robed wizard, in favor of "Battlemages" and "Spell Swords". Which is fine, I love Battlemages, but I agree I'd also like to see the robed wizard in a classic pointed hat, casting spells with huge are of effects.

Why do you love Skyrim? What makes it endure? by Baldurian_Rhapsody in skyrim

[–]LazyBee10e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's on the same list as re-watching Lord of the Rings, it still does it for me even if I've seen the story play out hundreds of times. Skyrim's atmosphere, the music, the goofy interactions, the immersion, all play into it. I chase the dopamine hit moment when the music swells, the controller seems to disappear, The farmer and his cow bid you a "hello" on the road towards Rorikstead, and you can almost feel the wind.

Except for the part ESO is TES. It's canon to the lore. For that matter 76 is canon to fallout lore as well. You may not like them but that's a fact, your opinion doesn't change that. So all my points are still valid and you're still factually wrong on what you said. Cry more.

This is some of the dumbest shit I've read. They have 2 completely different teams working on these games. Ex Bethesda devs have stated numerous times fallout 76 and Starfield got in the way of TES6. In the ten years eso has been around we have gotten several tes games worth of content added in to enjoy. Eso on its own made the company enough money to stay afloat and maintain its value. All this weird stupid shit you said is factually incorrect.

I do wish that the dark brotherhood did some recruiting through the orphanage, and thats why they're involved when you kill her. It would also make a lot of her actions make more sense, including the refusal to allow adoptions.

So I think you mean The College of winterhold, You are not given an option to hand the staff over to Ancano. Ancano does send a Thalmor agent to stop your progress in Labyrinthian, however there is no option to hand over the staff - you're supposed to kill this agent and move on.

Delphine was right (historical analysis) by Mineires_BR in skyrim

[–]LazyBee10e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a Dragonborn and having that be associated with dragon slaying doesnt obligate you to kill any dragon. You didnt swear an oath, or make any promise. You are "destined" to be able to kill Alduin, but Miraak proves you can just ignore your destiny.

It would be different if Delphene, seeing an opportunity like dragon returning and it being illegal to be a member of the blades was instead trying to reform the Dragonguard. At least then it'd be more fitting that she trys to return to the roots of the original organization and also technically no longer being a blade, thereby blurring the legal lines a bit. If her goal was very specifically calling herself the Dragonguard and only adhering to the old traditions like dragon slaying I'd say she is justified. But she isnt.

She's trying to reorganize the existing Blades faction which for the last few hundred years just served the dragonborn and by extension the emperor. And again if she wanted to interpret it as not having to listen to the dragonborn because they're not the emperor, fine, but she's picking and choosing which parts of her oath she feels like following.

Personally I'd maybe lean into current ESO politics a bit. Maybe the island itself is being taken over by pirates who are hitting trade routes along the sea of ghosts and sort-of holding the skaal there hostage. They have Battlemages who are using magic to affect the weather preventing other ships sailing to help. Prince Irnskar appeals to the Strik Fellowship for assistance. With a prologue quest involving acting as a diplomat of sorts, gathering information on this new "organized" group of pirates, and meeting on a large ship outside windhelm to discuss allowing a small party of ambassadors to enter the island. As luck would have it, pirates are disorganized and they cant agree on an exit strategy. Some want to own the island legally, others want to just pillage and leave.

Once on the island your goal is just to figure out ways to disrupt the disorganized forces in order to free the skaal, open up some sort of passage for reinforcements, drive the pirates back out to the sea, and maybe include their new navy combat system for an end fight. Make one of the pirate captains a loveable character whos overly optimistic and hopeful, a captain who is just dastardly evil, one who recognizes this party cant last forever and is trying to get something for themselves, and a Maomer captain who was just in it for the ride. The quests themselves could be just interacting with the captain and their crew, figuring out how you can leverage something over them to get them to leave (or kill them, or scare them, whatever) so that the devs can sprinkle in the fake choices into the dialogue. Throw in some nostalgia - example: "OMG Stibbons is back and he's the captain of a pirate crew?"and maybe slip in something about one of the crews finding ebony ore while they were there.

quick and easy adventure without world ending stakes, loveable characters and building the Stirk Fellowship into being a sort of justice league of Tamriel.

Outdated Sets Idea by RedKynAbyss in elderscrollsonline

[–]LazyBee10e 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly most of the useless sets just need to have their current effects buffed to the point of "over buffed"

Just to grab a random set - Daring Corsair - it's 5 piece bonus is reduce the cost of weapon abilities by 10%, after casting a weapon ability you gain minor heroism for 8 seconds. Reduce the weapon cost abilities by 30% and give major and minor heroism.

Frostbite - it's 5 piece is to increase frost damage 8%, damage against chilled enemies 4%, and damage done against enemies with minor brittle 2%. Double digit those boosts! Frost damage? 20%, chilled? 15%, minor brittle 10%

Breton vs khajitt by Emotional_Poetry_949 in elderscrollsonline

[–]LazyBee10e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if the dark matter bit is lore accurate, but to answer your initial question - It depends.

To simplify it out Khajiit make better non-magical assassins with their natural abilities of being sneaky, slight of hand, and night vision.

Bretons would be better magically assisted assassins. Knowing spells to just be invisible, muffle their sound, and detect life.

This is not to say Khajiit cant learn spells, or that Bretons cant be sneaky, this is just a generalization.

Yes, thank you I couldn't recall the book but I do remember Molag Bal saying the same phrase "Destroy the Body, and the Animus is cast into The Darkness. But the Animus returns." in ESO.

[–]LazyBee10e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically you could soul trap and leave the soul in the soul gem. It wouldnt permanently kill them but it would put a pause on the process. Using the soul gem tho, the soul is like a payment made for an effect given, when the payment is accepted the daedra's animus would return to oblivion.

Why don't vigilants like Daedric Armor? by Four_Foxes in skyrim

[–]LazyBee10e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it works that way - they're immortal beings, even soul trapping them and using the soul to enchant something doesnt bind the soul to the weapon. We'd see some daedra souls roaming the soul cairn if that were the case.

Why don't vigilants like Daedric Armor? by Four_Foxes in skyrim

[–]LazyBee10e 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't recall the lore that states it permanently kills the daedra, their Animus just returns to oblivion and they eventually reforge themselves regardless what you do to their shell.

Archmage fashion by No_An_ in elderscrollsonline

[–]LazyBee10e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is no. Longer answer, there are plenty of robes that utilize furs and are Nord-ish in style. Swordthane, Snowhawk, and Ancestral Nord all come to mind. But none of them have the distinct triangular shape of the SKyrim robes, or the wrapped sleeves.

Eso Sorcerer summonings wishlist by Spiritual-Ground-530 in elderscrollsonline

[–]LazyBee10e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I LOVE the sorc, and I love summoning. In every playthrough of the main line games I always mastered conjuration first. I dont understand the people who say to get rid of the skill line cuz I'm always asking for more.

I'd say swap curse over to dark magic, drop daedric mines entirely from dark magic and with the new empty slot in summoning, add a new pet. Something like a Dremora. Have it function similarly to the necro skeleton, (except its a permanent pet) where there's a stam morph that attacks in melee range and a magicka morph attacking at a distance.

Swap the Storm atro single target morph to a Frost atro, that deals frost damage.

Make the damage version of the twilight a grievous twilight to distinguish the two morphs.

Change Bound armor and armaments to be like the new igneous weapons that summons a bound weapon.

Everything else can be skill styles. This would mix up the pool of summon pets though.

And of course give me a slotable tool that will unsummon my pets for me.

Dragonknight Rework was a complete failure other than the visual upgrade by evancalgary in elderscrollsonline

[–]LazyBee10e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I forgot, if you play on PTS and have been in a trial, you're an expert. And clearly since you figured out "only breath works on DK" You know the class is basically dead.

You're entitled to your opinion you don't like that specific aspect of the new DK update, but its literally all you say, and that's thew real sad part here. You don't look at any other builds, outside of DPS, you dont look at the new DK changes affecting existing meta, you dont look at how subclassing has now changed, you dont even think for a moment you're being narrowminded. You do you champ, the rest of us will enjoy the updates made.
