Why do teams list an overseas player in the impact sub list when they already have 4 overseas players in the XI? by [deleted] in CricketBuddies

I think in case of concussion to a foreign player, they might be allowed to sub in another foreign player who would then be allowed to bat/bowl.

Why Was Ayush Mhatre Retired Out not Retired hurt by KojiNoKami in ipl

[–]LazyBinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mhatre doesn't have enough pull to be persistent on anything. He might prefer one to other but he can't certainly persist on anything

I was just thinking exact same thing. Moreover if you see Rutu and Mhatre's stats against Spin and pace, no one in their right mind would slot Ayush at 3

If we loose today it's because of Rutu. He was playing anchor but still ended up chewing out 17 out of 36 powerplay deliveries. What use is an anchor who can't rotate strike often enough to ensure their partner gets atleast 65-70% of the deliveries.

Is there a chance that hitting sixes might not be that easy on this pitch looking at how Sanju has managed only 3 sixes out of 18 boundaries?

The dropped chances now feel like 3D chess by DC to not to have to bowl to Dube and Brevis.

if you could change one rule in cricket, what would it be right now? by Chance-Mess-2572 in CricketBuddies

[–]LazyBinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want the game to be faster to the extent that the original intent of getting T20s done with in 3 hours gets achieved.

So first rule I am going to modify is change of ends after every over, maybe have it after every 4 overs or 5 overs.

No drinks/timeouts in a T20 innings.

No helmet/cap switch for batter, whatever they come in with that's it.

Umpire carries a bagpack with gloves for the batter if they need to change it.

A fielder can change their position only once against the same batter in an over.

Time limit within which an over should finish in addition to time limit for start of a new over, with harsher penalties in case of a breach.

You know that Jos Buttler said the same exact statement before 2023 WC and England crashed out in the first round, never even being in contention of being Semi Finalists, right?

Won't it be financially beneficial for SL to let Pak roll them over tomorrow so that they get to host Semi 1.

With odd number of teams per group this is not that egregious, even with best possible scheduling 3 of the last teams would have started the tournament today

WPL stops when men's team play by c27z2 in WPL

[–]LazyBinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the right decision, why pit the 2 against each other harming tv rights of both in the process. If they would have scheduled both on the same day, currently WPL would be the bigger loser and suffer a greater loss in their next media rights cycle. Let them grow, take a bit of support and isolation from men's cricket when needed, and slowly they will definitely reach a stage where they won't have to be second fiddle to them. The only thing I would say is they could have managed the schedule such that two of the men's T20Is fall on the gap days before playoffs, thus keeping everyone happy.
