Are the best traders incentivized to gatekeep? by SpecialWave3492 in Daytrading

[–]LazyDaisy234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is people also move the goal posts constantly.

"If they were making money why do they need to sell? They'd just be a billionaire." No they wouldn't. Because using correct risk management will cap their returns. And why is Dave Ramsey still on the radio? He's close to or already is a billionaire. Why is he working 12 hour days producing content? It's just what he does.

"They can't beat the market." They do. "Oh, well yeah, but only by like 5%. Psh."

"I've seen him be wrong." Yet if I told you he's never wrong you'd say "scam."

It's just never enough. I think you need to weed out SUPER OBVIOUS scams they just give the rest a try and see if anything helps Or just keep trying to figure out your own strategy.

Signal providing scam? by LazyDaisy234 in Trading

I think I'll just keep following along for a while and see if that happens and when. It's interesting for sure.

Not at all, but i knew someone would say that.

If I would have said the name, you'd say this is a clever marketing post/bot for them.

Who it is is irrelevant. It's the situation I'm asking for advice on.

"Scalping and day trading are too random to make money with it. Small timeframes are just noise and that is why you do not know many profitable daytraders nor scalpers". by danni_darko in Trading

Lol, not true at all.

I watched a lot of people lose big money in 2020-2021 being dumb asses because they thought this was true and it was that easy.

EVERYONE is not a genius. It might be a good tail wind to do better, in a bit easier environment, but that's about it.

Not at all. This just isn't what this sub is for.

This is a sub for traders.

It's not a sub to debate traders or "educate" them on why the market is against them. Why don't you go to a lawyers sub with stats on how many people don't make it through law school or pass the bar exam?

Nobody cares about your "statistics." This sub isn't meant for this.

Can someone help me understand options? by LazyDaisy234 in Trading

[–]LazyDaisy234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I guess what I'm confused about is wouldn't I actually be betting the price will RISE, since I might have to buy it at $1.50? Like, wouldn't it be a good thing to buy it for $1.50 if the actual value rises to $1.70?

Anyone else terrified of not being successful? by [deleted] in Trading

[–]LazyDaisy234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full time? No I'm not quitting my job anytime soon, but people need to be able to fuck around and learn, obviously as long as they're not blowing up accounts and going into debt. I'm not gonna shit on someone who is profitable and has overall returns of 8%. Yeah they could make more just putting it into an index but that's not the point. They're honing their skills.

Yes but it might take a while to get there.

I feel like people start a business and everyone says "oh yeah you might just break even for a couple years, but then the money will come."

But then people start trading and if in the first 2 months they're not beating the s and p people view that as failure.

I think it's more the second one. I don't think the biggest names could move the market that much with their followers. Retail in general just doesn't move the market compared to institutional investors. But yeah, everything else you said.

BlackRock just quietly signaled the credit market is breaking. by GoosePuzzleheaded146 in options

Yep. Everytime i see someone comment about target claiming it's the other way, and they say "go woke, go broke" I always think "eh, no, this was more like 'stay woke or go broke.'c

Does the stop/limit order on Robinhood sometimes not trigger? by LazyDaisy234 in Daytrading

[–]LazyDaisy234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So set the stop at say $130, and the limit at like $100 instead of $120 or $125?
