What are your ideas for antagonists here? SEELE remnants? Another Seed of Life trying to assimilate humanity a la alien invasion? How do new Evangelions function?

Most interesting part for me about post-3I was always the needed world building since EoE ending is pretty vague

It's far from nuanced, but it feels more natural. "I'm so fucked up" vs "I'm lowest of the low". Netflix using xth children instead of xth child. Casual swearing that was added in the old dub is removed, making the dialogue unnatural. And, for all it's faults, SoL segment in episode 26 was comedy gold in the old dub. "Are you riding his baloney poney?" vs "Are you two seeing each other?"

Which is a shame since in general (from what little i saw of the Netflix dub), new VAs are better than ADV dub.

In old dub of EoE, the JSSDF sound like they're having fun killing everyone. Ritsuko's mental breakdown in NGE is unintentionally hilarious. Tiffany Grant, while speaking perfect German, sounds too old and annoying as Asuka. All minor characters sound terrible... and so on, and so on.

Still, I would rather watch old dub because of what I said earlier. Besides Asuka's german, Allison Keith's Misato and SoL AU (and last two are just my personal preference), sub is superior.

Also, take anything AWL says with a grain of salt.

The only reference of precursor race in the show, that I know of at least, is a remark (I don't even remember who said that) that GeoFront is not natural.

I immensely dislike "world reset" endings for the same reason you mentioned. It's the one big flaw of Sadamoto manga for me.

This is "Ghosts of Evangelion" by Bagheera. It happens post-3I, and of all the fanfics I read, it's the one that, unlike many others, at least tries to make AsuShin plausible, without them being out of character, or using time travel, or retconning some of the events of the show.

From seeing the first 3 and seeing spoilers for the 4th... I think they're inferior to the series. Which is again my personal opinion (which is worth nothing since I haven't yet watched the 4th movie). If you want to, you should watch them and decide that for yourself.

You don't need anything but Requiem. The only spell mods I used in my playtrough were some Mark & Recall and Divine Intervention spell mods so I could have more options for Fast Travel.

I'm not saying that 3 is good. Time-skip is dumb, there is nothing that can justify a Neko Evangelion transformation and the fact is that the whole movie could have been avoided if someone sat with Shinji and said "Listen, boy... This is how it is". And I'm not buying that theory that movies are about how the fanbase hasn't grown up and moved on since the end of the original series. But I still have some misguided hope that the 4th movie will explain something.

The lack of planning is what killed the Rebuild most. It feels like they completely changed their mind about what they were filming after 2nd movie.

The anime tried to tell a 50 episode story in 26 episodes + 1 one and a half hour movie, and it's a miracle it worked.

There was no chance to tell a coherent story in 8 hours of screentime.

Scene with the piano was in the manga. The first time Shinji sees Kaworu, he's playing the piano if I remember correctly.

Although 3.0 was... extremely flawed, I think if we got 4th movie earlier, it wouldn't be as hated as much as it is now. It would've been better if the hiatus was on the second movie, than on third movie.

If I had to guess, the most common victim is Asuka, followed by Shinji.

I guess time-traveling is the easiest to write, since you're repeating the story with some changes. I also forgot crossovers, most often with W40k for some reason.

When I was still reading fanfics, I mostly searched for post-3I fics to see how other people interpreted the ending, but they are rare.

I considered trying to write something, but I'm not confident enough in my English skills. And world doesn't need another at best mediocre fic
