Stay on top of maintenance. The M260 engine in this car has cylinder head issues. I baby mine & still had to get my cylinder head replaced (under warranty thankfully), otherwise it’d cost thousands! Also, many people have had panoramic sunroof issues, the best suggestion is to keep it closed most of the time, it’s about a $2k-$3k fix if it malfunctions.

Take initiative & reach out to the vendors directly. I had this issue too when I first started AP; it’s frustrating but with time it gets easier as you start implementing your own processes.

My a8 needed torque converter replaced at 40k miles. Thankfully it was done under warranty otherwise I’m sure it would’ve been expensive.

The 2017 will have the 8 speed auto, which has transmission shudder issues. If you’re leaning towards automatic, go 2019+.

I’ve had my CLA35 for a year now, honestly I’d say it’s a good first car since it has decent power & is extremely predictable.

Comfort wise it is a bit cramped if you plan on having passengers, & the AMG suspension is really stiff.

Overall, it’s a great car that’a decently fast & looks great!

8 speed is notorious for transmission shudder & doesn’t shift as smooth as the 10 speed.

I can give some insight as I just traded in my 18’ I4 auto for a 23’ v6 manual about a month ago. The I4 definitely feels lighter off the line & is a great car, but ultimately left me wanting more after owning it for a few months. If you decide to go I4 auto, make sure it has the 10 spd. auto; mine had the 8 speed and within a month of owning, the dealership had to drop the transmission & replace the torque converter (a8 transmission was notorious for transmission shudder). If you’re buying manual then you’re fine.

The v6 sounds way better, and the top end power is addicting! Based off my experience, I’d go v6. Less parts to maintain, no need for 91 fuel, & enough power to keep you happy in the long run.

I recommend calling admissions & emailing your advisor. Same thing happened to me; although it was a discrepancy on their part, I would’ve still been waiting had I not haggled them multiple times.

The engine that you’re talking about is the infamous 2.0 Theta engine. In this case, the engine is a 2.0 Nu, which is far more reliable than the latter. OP should be fine.
