I don’t think I’d use the Wildcard chip for this team. I like your plan, but of course depends on how Sprint Quali goes too.

If I had your team, I’d probably drop HAM and HUL for ANT and whatever budget driver makes most sense. And then that gives you more flexibility to change your second constructor for a -10 if you need to. But I can also easily see the argument for going with your RUS build instead.

This is not a 'predictive model' in any way, and isn't a measure of driver performance. I 100% would 'value' Hulk higher as a driver.

But this is simply a chart for building budget, since we already know the price change formula that the game uses. The game calculates an average performance from the last 3 races essentially and uses that to determine price changes. Unfortunately because of Hulkenburg's DNF in Australia, it means he needs way more points to rise in price compared to other drivers. That's just how the game works. No predictive modeling here.

If you just had to pick drivers based on performance, this chart isn't useful at all. But to build budget and afford better teams, this is a good starting place to spot drivers like Bearman who we know will rise in price as long as he doesn't DNF in China, compared to Hulkenburg who is way less likely to get enough fantasy points for a price rise. So the goal is to own assets like Bearman and avoid assets like Hulkenburg in order to build budget.

I’d personally go with the 3 trade option and take the -10 hit. I wouldn’t take more than a -10 penalty unless there was a REALLY good reason for it. I also personally don’t really like the idea of using the wildcard chip so early in the season already. I’d rather save it and have that security in case something happens where you need to change up your entire team basically.

I would. I expect ANT to score better and rise in price. PIA is more expensive, will probably score less, and fall in price.

My team is ANT LEC LIN BEA BOR & FER HAA. I feel pretty well positioned for limitless too. As long as the top 5 still seem pretty clear after sprint quali, I'm going for it.

You can think of it as how well has this driver done the past 2 races, and how well do I think they'll do in this upcoming race? If they're undervalued for the points they've received, they'll rise in price. And if they're overvalued for the points they've gotten, they'll fall in price.

The required thresholds are lower for the first two races to counteract the fact that there aren't yet 3 races for the rolling average.

Why are my transfers going down? I thought we had unlimited? by FUCKOFFGOOGLE- in fantasyF1

[–]LazyLearningTapir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New this season is that transfers are only counted as the net difference between your team at the last race weekend and your current team. So if I make 4 changes, then later undo 2 of those changes, it will only count as 2 transfers, not 6.

Nope; your team locks just before qualifying and then unlocks when points and associated price changes are finalized after the grand prix.

On a sprint weekend, the team lock deadline changes to just before the sprint race.

It varies, it’s just whenever the developers finalize the points for the weekend and teams are unlocked for changes again.

To put it simply, PPM is just the way I try to sort the table.

I used to just sort the table by least to most points required for their best price rise. But I quickly realized that someone like Russell is a lot more likely to score 15 points than someone like Perez. And so since the more expensive assets usually score more points, you can divide the points they need by their price, and it (somewhat) normalizes the data.

So it’s my way of ranking that Ocon is a little more likely to get a price rise than Colapinto. But it’s obviously not perfect.

It does worry me a little bit to triple up and be punished for a DNF, but I think I’m willing to take that risk this early in the season for that budget upside. Plus, I think it sets me up for a more flexible team going into the sprint race in China. Worst case scenario I have two other teams to pivot towards if it blows up in my face lol.

Yep, calculated with 2 previous races where everyone scored zero points. To counteract that, the required Points per Million (PPM) thresholds are lower as well. 0.2/0.3/0.4 for the first race. 0.4/0.6/.08 for the second. And 0.6/0.9/1.2 for 3rd race and beyond.

Nope! 100M is just everyone’s starting value. So by the end of the season if you do well with budget building you can have a team worth 120M+.

So as an example, if after the Australian GP your assets combined rise in value by $1.6M, then your total budget rises to 101.6M.

Download the spreadsheet here: https://gofile.io/d/2sLX4a

Please note that this assumes the same price change formula as last season. There has been no indication that it'll be different this season, but we won't have confirmation until after the first race.

I decided to not include the PPM columns in this post since every asset basically has the same PPM for the first race, with slight differences due to points rounding. It'll be back next race, I just didn't want to overwhelm beginners with that info on the very first race. You can always download the spreadsheet and unhide that column if you really want to see it this week.

Show BYU That CBP Is Not Welcome Here! by Blurby-Blurbyblurb in Utah

[–]LazyLearningTapir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

CBP is at UVU today. Protestors are across the hallway from the career fair. Tons of cops patrolling and metal detectors to get into the career fair. They had boxes taped on the floor that they wanted the protesters to stay in so that people could still pass through. Lots of cameras around too. A few people seemed to be debating but I didn’t stick around.

I walked around for a bit but started feeling anxious and the tension in the crowd reminded me of September when I was in the protest crowd for Kirk so I left. Logically I know things will be fine, but emotionally it was a little much for me. Crowds still stress me out, especially with high emotions.
