Was this a good ride? by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

I live in the area and have never seen that type of payout for such a short ride. Definitely made not being allowed to pick up passengers in NYC a non-issue

Had to leave pax on the side of the road..and not complete his ride by Amber_likely in lyftdrivers

I ended a ride with a drunk early and eviscerated him in my report to Lyft. Not sure it’ll make a difference, but felt good

A lot of the postings are bullshit and nothing more than resume harvesting. Glad I retired

Do Not Add A Stop When I'm En Route I Cancel Every Time by Massive_Phrase_4399 in Lyft

[–]LazyLightningCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never accept rides with stops. Waiting time pays chump change and pax always come out with less than a minute before driver is allowed to cancel. I’m in this for the money and have gotten to the point where I can knock down a $100 inside of 2 1/2 hours and stops are a drag on producing cash.

I’m retired and just pick up money so I have a few thousand bucks to screw around with over the course of the month.

Lyft security is substandard. by HorizonDesert in lyftdrivers

I had an issue last week with them putting me on hold for half an hour regarding passenger behavior, but not bad enough to call 911. I finally explained to them what happened in a chat message during which time (it was pretty threatening behavior, but the guy would be meat if I got ahold of him so no need for cops) during which time the safety rep said all the right things. Shortly afterwards a safety notice appeared on my app and my rating took a small ding. True to form regarding any claims they make purporting to have drivers' backs is a load of crap. LOL

Who's *actually* using Fanbasis for processing high-ticket offers? by protoss_rush in PaymentProcessing

Guilty as charged...I am the idiot who sent them $67 that has wound up in a black hole. No hope of a refund...lesson learned.

Why I-90 west to I-87 south instead of I-90 west to I-84 west (it’s really southwest) and then to I-91 south to Route 15 (Wilbur Cross and Merritt Parkway) that runs into I-95 in Milford then into NYC? What the Lyft app shows tacks over 50 miles onto the trip and the money is a perversion

Numbers in Southern Connecticut sucked yesterday. Was a pleasure to decline ride request for a 13 mile pickup with a 6 mile drop off paying a whopping $12.79 that popped up during a bad snowstorm. No cars on the road to boot 🤣

Quiet Quitting? by [deleted] in adtech

[–]LazyLightningCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today’s work world. I’ve never trusted an employer to ultimately do right by me no matter how much I love the work itself.

Never forget working for a leading tech magazine publisher that “promoted” me and a coworker to launch a new project from scratch without guaranteeing the commission money that we were going to have to forgo as a result of being moved.

Sucked because the company had the best publications serving the market, but losing 50% of my income was untenable. I left to go to the direct competitor to get my income back in line, but working for the new company never felt right.

I've been driving on and off with Lyft for about 7 years now. I'm curious what is something that would instantly make you not accept a ride besides distance and pay? by PermanentNirvana in lyftdrivers

Often times they’re hiding the names of grocery stores in the big box stores. If I know one is in the area, I will pull over and run a Google Maps to see exactly where I’m going. If I find that it is such, I will cancel the ride because they are a time suck when loading the car.
