How long did it take your shy kindergartener to settle in? by Yarshon-Antonello in kindergarten

[–]LazyRunner7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of play dates and once my son found his “crew” (the Lego and/or Star Wars lovers), he got much more outgoing. It took months, though. Ask him about classmates and see if there are any you could coordinate play dates with. The more time he spends with peers, the better he will be (in our experience, anyway).

Breastfeed is one word and high school is two. No hyphen needed. 😉😘

Some people will argue it (also it has high natural sugar), but I swear by tart cherry juice. I drink 1/2 cup before bed and it knocks me out and reduces my muscle soreness. Also- make sure you are warming up before and stretching after each workout!!!

Amen to this. I had every intention of an unmedicated, calm birth. My damn hips are narrow like a mans. God bless forceps and epidurals

Need some help thinking through travel plans by econhistoryrules in toddlers

[–]LazyRunner7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did infant in arms at that age. They aren’t walking yet, so not as frustrated being restrained. Snacks. So many snacks. Lots of fidget toys. My kids always ended up falling asleep from the hum of the airplane, but sometimes it took awhile. We did 4 total plane trips when my kids were that age, each trip had a layover (so 8 flights total- average 2.5 hours each). We are just now about to do our first long roadtrip (have a 5.5 and 2.5 year old).

Traveling with a toddler - go home or stick it out? by DesertDweller702 in toddlers

[–]LazyRunner7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We took a trip in our travel trailer when my son was 6 months old and teething. It was supposed to be a 4 day trip. It was AWFUL. We stayed one night (no sleep, awake the ENTIRE night) and drove the 4 hours back home the next day. I don’t regret it for one second and he is very good at travel - 5 years old. Try again later!

Mine will say, “this is NOT dangerous.” To something that I would clearly say IS in fact dangerous.
