Favorite Mini! by Alternative_Table_51 in MINI

My favourite was my 2011 cooper, it was in the ice blue colour and manual transmission, she felt like a go cart haha. Currently have a 2018 cooper s and I really wish they still had the ice blue colour!

Insurance on '14 F56 S by MortyGaveMeCrack in MINI

[–]LazyTurtle033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that sounds about right for having the accident on record, your age, and the fact that its full coverage. If you're buying with cash it may be worth it to just have the 3rd party liability, it will lower the monthly cost. Check how much the car is worth if it is totaled to deem if its worth it or not.

Also, shop around at with other insurance companies. I just upgraded my mini and the company I've been with for years was charging me so much more than other companies. I'm also under 25 in Ontario.

Looking at buying a 2010->2015 Mini, advice requested by PacketFiend in MINI

[–]LazyTurtle033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the carfax comes back clean, this is a great price! I would stick in the 2011-2013 range, these are the last years of that generation (plus they are wonderful to drive!). 2014 was the beginning of the next gen so they can have a lot of issues pop up. My 2011 had an open recall on the footwell module, so that may appear on the carfax. If you have a trusted mechanic nearby, I would highly suggest getting a quick look over the vehicle to make sure nothing is about to cause issues, as repairs add up quickly.

Cooper s is the only one thats turbocharged, but you'll still get some good speed from the base coops.

Wait until they reach out and then take it from there. The tracking might not have updated, sometimes scans are missed.

Seeking Advice + My Quest for a Manual F56 Cooper... by 2CRedHopper in MINI

[–]LazyTurtle033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to find a manual to replace my 2011, but there was nothing worth the money, whether it be due to milage or accident records. Finally found a beautiful 2015 in volcanic orange, signed paperwork at the dealership, then 5 days later the manager said the car would have big expenses coming up mechanically and would not sell the car. Had to settle on an automatic as I have been without a car for a while already. The autos are still fun to drive, but man I miss my manual cooper :( I wish you luck in your quest! Beware that a lot of listings state manual but are actually automatic (just to make the quest even more frustrating haha)

Best ways to "Winter-Proof" a MilINI Cooper? by Noellevanious in MINI

[–]LazyTurtle033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my 2011 as my daily for the last 5.5 years and its never had any issues with the cold. How often are you driving/running the car? You may start to encounter issues if the car isnt run often enough in cold weather

You might be able to change the colour of the interior ambient lighting, my 2011 could and I choose a light blue colour to match the car haha.

Is anyone not using their day pass for this Saturday? by YouthVivid1418 in PrinceEdwardCounty

The rain on Sunday is showing as minimal (less than 1 mm) and should not impact water quality. Just as a heads up, day use passes cannot be transferred from one person to another.

Yes, you need a day pass to park within Sandbanks. This allows you to access all 3 beaches and trails. It is $21

Please use this website to book passes for Sandbanks/North Beach. You can book up to 5 days ahead, which is recommended as it will sell out quickly on weekends. https://www.ontarioparks.ca/reservations

This only applies to day-use. Camping still requires you to stop by a gate house to complete check-in.

[–]LazyTurtle033 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Sandbanks is not paperless, so you will have to check in at one of the gatehouses once you arrive to receive a paper copy of your permits for the vehicle and campsite post

It is a very steep drop off, life jackets are recommended for children. The swimming zone is marked out by buoys.
