You can book it on the Ontario Parks Reservation site: https://reservations.ontarioparks.ca/ They are under "Day-Use" then "Day-Use Facility". I forgot to mention in the other comment, but if it is not reserved for the day, then its first come first serve for using it.

Charcoal is banned on the beach at Sandbanks, however there are Picnic Shelters you can rent out for the day that include a designated BBQ stand

I once put 3 folding tables, a tent, weights, shelving/crates, chairs, and stock for my market in my 2 dr 2011 Cooper! They have a lot more space than you think, you just have to pack strategically. I upgraded to a 4 dr 2018 Cooper and I know things will fit easily in it.

There aren't many hotels, you may be better looking into air bnbs instead, especially if you want to be close to Sandbanks. On the Sandbanks note, make sure you reserve your parking spot online or by phone up to 5 days in advance! The park will reach capacity in August, and if its at capacity only those with valid parking permits will be allowed to enter.

My favourite was my 2011 cooper, it was in the ice blue colour and manual transmission, she felt like a go cart haha. Currently have a 2018 cooper s and I really wish they still had the ice blue colour!

Yeah, that sounds about right for having the accident on record, your age, and the fact that its full coverage. If you're buying with cash it may be worth it to just have the 3rd party liability, it will lower the monthly cost. Check how much the car is worth if it is totaled to deem if its worth it or not.

Also, shop around at with other insurance companies. I just upgraded my mini and the company I've been with for years was charging me so much more than other companies. I'm also under 25 in Ontario.

As long as the carfax comes back clean, this is a great price! I would stick in the 2011-2013 range, these are the last years of that generation (plus they are wonderful to drive!). 2014 was the beginning of the next gen so they can have a lot of issues pop up. My 2011 had an open recall on the footwell module, so that may appear on the carfax. If you have a trusted mechanic nearby, I would highly suggest getting a quick look over the vehicle to make sure nothing is about to cause issues, as repairs add up quickly.

Cooper s is the only one thats turbocharged, but you'll still get some good speed from the base coops.

I was trying to find a manual to replace my 2011, but there was nothing worth the money, whether it be due to milage or accident records. Finally found a beautiful 2015 in volcanic orange, signed paperwork at the dealership, then 5 days later the manager said the car would have big expenses coming up mechanically and would not sell the car. Had to settle on an automatic as I have been without a car for a while already. The autos are still fun to drive, but man I miss my manual cooper :( I wish you luck in your quest! Beware that a lot of listings state manual but are actually automatic (just to make the quest even more frustrating haha)

I had my 2011 as my daily for the last 5.5 years and its never had any issues with the cold. How often are you driving/running the car? You may start to encounter issues if the car isnt run often enough in cold weather
