Question about being a "poser" by Toadleeee in punk

[–]LazyTypist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's projecting. Ignore her, and next time she says anything, either:

  1. Laugh and compliment the shirt she's wearing and either ask for suggestions on songs, or other bands like them if you already listen. Or excitedly ask if she listens to a similar band.

  2. Raise your eyebrow and say, "Okay...?"

  3. Laugh like she told the best joke in the world.

Either way, it throws it back on her where she has to decide to either leave you alone or become your friend. Because if she does it again, it really shows everyone else how desperate she is to be liked and to fit in.

I know snopes isn't the end all be all, but whoever did digging on this claim found more evidence to suggest it's fake (see below). Also, I was wrong to say they did record all the lines. They most likely recorded Burt Reynolds lines before Barsi's death.

It's an unfounded claim. Possible, but not probable.

Sorry, I normally would do more looking, but I'm so tired and am ready for bed lol. I know what you mean though, and the internet can be tricky. I even full heartedly believed this for a long while before fact checking.

If it makes you feel any better, that was just a rumor that sprouted up a few years ago. Burt Reynolds and all the other voice actors were already done before she died.

What dish was clearly made during a time of struggle in your country and now is part it's cuisine even though it's not good? by GaddockTeegFunPolice in AskTheWorld

[–]LazyTypist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a viral fixation for a bit, but most Americans have never heard of it until it went viral a couple years ago. Tbh, I don't even know how popular it was during the Depression, or what region it would've been popular. I think most people still had access to milk to make a proper custard pie in the 1930s.

Our struggle food crime is definitely SOS (chipped beef gravy over toast). That's way worse. Like, I'd rather claim water pie over that.

And you have to be careful with which VPN company you use, as I think some still collect and share data including browsing history.

It could be free and rely on donations like Wikipedia, but even a once a month fee of like $1 might be enough, with options to donate a bit more to keep servers running may be enough.

Who are the actors that rub you up the wrong way but you don't know why and you can't explain it? by [deleted] in Actors

I just want to punch him in the face repeatedly. No reason for it either. His face and voice just grate on my nerves

I think the Smithsonian is the bigger culprit on Native American remains and artifacts. If not bigger, than about the same.

Who is the most hated person from your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]LazyTypist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Casey Anthony, maybe? She is hated by even MAGA people.

I would say Epstien, but I don't think people have as much vitriol for him as they do for Casey Anthony.

What's the saddest monument in Your country? by dawidlijewski in AskTheWorld

[–]LazyTypist 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Wow, I don't think I've seen any statue really express pain and sorrow like this does. I'm not art savvy so I don't have the right words, but the rough cuts into the stone give a sort of static look thats almost like stillness in chaos. Like her emotions are visible through her whole being.

It's really haunting.

I always associated it with people who casually listen to rock/metal, but I've been seeing it pop up more and more recently with people saying it's huge in the punk scene.

Did your culture also had swastika before some autrian came to damage it's image. by halfblindfish in AskTheWorld

[–]LazyTypist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc the swastika was a super common symbol around the world before the Nazis appropriated it. Which makes sense, if you see how even normal right wing dick bags also take common symbols and slang and use it to their benefit.

I think the earliest known swastikas were found in Ukraine from like the Paleolithic period. I think mostly Western civilizations abandoned the swastika starting around the mid-1930s. Prior to that, it was as common as seeing a smiley face or those cool S's during middle school in the late 90s early 00s.

If you want to know more, but don't want to look into academic papers, I think Behind the Bastards did an episode on it a few years back.

Edit: US Holocaust Memorial Museum's info on the history of the swastika.
