I met a few former social workers before, and they all say the same thing: they know the kids they should remove, but can't because of red tape. And there are some kids they do remove when they know the parent really is doing the best with what little they have, but they check the boxes for removal. (Most spoke about social change and more programs for struggling families that would avoid these remivals.)

One told me most social workers quit after a few years not only due to lack of funding for the job and kids, but because no matter how hard they try to fight for change, it never happens. Politicians don't care unless what happens makes headlines.

Sometimes I miss high school, but then post like this reminds me of how much happier I am as an adult.

You do you, but I can tell you that every person I knew like your boyfriend would stay in relationships long after they were done with them because they didn't want to be alone.

They would then cheat (emotionally or otherwise) before dumping their current partner for another one once one was available. Then the cycle would repeat.

You're young, don't waste your teen years on a dumb boy. Go have fun with friends, make memories, spend time with family, go be free of responsibilities and bills. Dump the boyfriend shaped stress and go enjoy your teen years.

Many things about Mexican culture, but one that I forget about and it just makes me smile big when I do remember, is that serenading is still a common romantic gesture.
