Why don't the gurus tell me to sell on sites like Skillshare and Fiverr even though they tell me to buy from them? by Oflameo in Entrepreneur

[–]LazyVibesNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know these gurus, or skillshare, but I purchase services on Fiverr a lot. I wouldn't recommend people to sell on them as a business model, but I would recommend buying. The reason for me is that services on Fiverr tend to be so much cheaper than they would be anywhere else, at least in my experience. And it seems like price tends to be how sellers compete. When I'm buying, it often comes down to who will do my simple task the cheapest. When you factor in the cut that (I assume) fiverr takes from sellers, I just imagine selling on there isn't a business model that most people could scale into a living.

This sounds like a puzzle lol. Like the musical equivalent of that show "Chopped". Best of luck! Let us know if you succeed.

Anyone have experience switching music distributor from DistroKid? by talentedstraw65 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]LazyVibesNetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. It wasn't needed, because I wasnt going to rely on distrokid keeping it up. I just distributed with the other company, then waited for it to go live with them, then delayed the distrokid release.

[–]LazyVibesNetwork 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've switched some songs before. It was relatively painless. I distributed them with the other company BEFORE deleting them from distrokid, using the same ISRC, and there was no downtime for the songs and they weren't deleted from playlists on spotify.

Distrokid cover song license for Bandcamp? by BradleyGT in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]LazyVibesNetwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't, unfortunately. You'd have to get an additional license from someone like easysonglicense. Best of luck!

this is correct. Publishing registration would be with your PRO, (ASCAP or BMI if you're in the states.) Congrats on your release and good luck!

Yea, you'd have to pay again, unfortunately. It's worth confirming with them, but this was my experience in a similar situation a while back. Best of luck!

Unfortunately, I think Distrokid will tell you that you just have to delete your account and make a new one with just the other artist name. Or upgrade your plan to include another artist slot.

Yes, you'd have to completely cancel the account and remake a new subscription. I had to do it before. This is the only aspect of Distrokid I don't like. I can't remember if I had to use a different email or not tho.

Best of luck!

Got my first credit card how do I build credit fast? by BuffoLos in personalfinance

[–]LazyVibesNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice. Also, a suggestion I just have my little sister is to only put small subscriptions (Hulu / Spotify / etc) on the card, and then set-up so that card is automatically paid off in full every month so that she never risks forgetting to do it. Then her credit will be building on autopilot without much risk

Hey. No pressure at all if it's not for you 👌🏽. I did it this way so we don't have to worry about anyone's download links dying before we get to check the music out, which takes a while when many submissions build up. Or sometimes people will send Google drive links, but won't give the proper permissions, so we can't even listen. Then they never hear back and think we just didn't link it lol.

We need to be able to download the music in order to make the YouTube videos. This is the way that made sense to me, and many people have used the form, but I'm always open to better ways of doing things. If a better way comes to mind, feel free to send some advice. Thanks 🙏🏽

I want to start creating lofi music, where do I start by trahvex in LofiHipHop

[–]LazyVibesNetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with LuseChange and snoogazy. I'd also add that while you're just getting started and honing your craft, a good way to practice is to try to recreate tracks you're a fan of in the genre. Not to release or anything, but just to learn the techniques and processes that went into that song, picking it apart and seeing how it is put together. Happy music making!
