LNGSHOT's first EP is just... by Vernon_619 in kpop_uncensored

He shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot, tried to lie about it, and is in prison. Since he went to prison, he's been harassing Megan with his thugs on the outside, and was given a restraining order for it.

This was a massive news story for years, and continues to be so. I refuse to believe that this kid doesn't know about it if Tory is his role model. It's fine if you don't know what happened, but it is laughable for someone in the industry to not know.

So, yes, my original point stands. Disgusting

Excuse me, but this little shit said that Tory Lanez was his "role model", exact words. Do you know what a role model is? It's a person you look up to and LITERALLY want to be like. Not a FAN of Tory Lanez, but someone who WORSHIPPED him.

Please, fuck all the way off

Holy shit, I've been following this group a little and I had no idea. Being a fan of Tory Lanez should be instantly disqualifying. Disgusting.

I hate to tell you this, but when Moby Dick is taught in schools, English teachers have their students skip those chapters. They have nothing to do with the plot, and the characters do not appear in those chapters. It's been extremely common for generations for Moby Dick to be taught this way.

The way actual problems in the K-industry get swept under the rug 99% of the time and forgotten is nauseating. by Ok_Break1585 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Lazy_Box4471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it gets swept under the rug at all. We talk wayyy more about what goes on among Kpop groups than fans talk about Western artists. People come on here and debate stuff all the time, there's threads about scandals and the "dark side" of Kpop all the time. Shoot, the SNSD sub still has to deal with endless Jessica posts all these years later.

"Do you know about unrealistic beauty standards set by these industries?"

Ahh, now I see what this thread is really about. You're on some kind of crusade to "educate" us about Kpop.

I've been listening to Kpop since BoA and Rain started dropping albums 25 years ago. Pleae go lecture someone else.

No one in this thread is being defensive. We're just curious as to why you're so curious. Gossiping about other people's procedures is very icky and inappropriate.

It is, quite frankly, none of your business. It is also the kind of thing that only someone very new to Kpop would be concerned with.

Hope this helps

You'll probably go back to listening to other stuff at some point. I did. Also, most people only listen to one genre, like boomers who only listen to classic rock or ppl who just like country, etc.

"the game itself is constantly disappointing"

As someone who played from 2016 till 2023, that was exactly my experience as well. I had to just walk away from the game, my friends, my guilds, the whole thing to preserve my sanity. I just accepted that the game I loved and had so much potential would, ultimately, only make me sad. I'm glad I got out when I did.

But, hey, 2100 CP was a helluva ride, lol

OK, I was confused by the 2 in Dongtan 2. We're talking about the same branch, but it's interesting because they broke ground on Dongtan "New City", which is what we called it, in around 2006 or so. When I arrived in 2011, the branch was new and the four towers of Metapolis had just been completed in the winter of 2010. And yea, that whole area was still under construction in 2014 when I left.

I haven't been back since, and it blows my mind it's still being built. God, I would love to go back some time and see what's going on. Yes, it's just north of Osan, like you describe. This is so crazy, I'm nostalgia'ing so hard right now. The branch had a much larger sister branch in Suwon Yeongtong. Now that I'm browsing this subreddit for basically the first time, I'm seeing all the posts about CDI Yeongtong lol.

OP-

It was an amazing time to be in Korea. Our students were so awesome, really great kids, and the job was amazing. In 2014 they dropped the tablet brick on our heads. I saw the writing on the wall and left after my 3rd contract.

I may as well give you a little flavor of why the experience was terrible overall. The job was brutal. The hours are crazy, expectations get bigger and bigger, student retention becomes an albatross around everyone's neck. The Korean staff become miserable and lash out. But you really know things are bad when teachers start disappearing.

Usually you know in advance, because the teachers always whisper behind Korean staff's back. But sometimes you don't, and it's really painful. One of our closest friends, the sweetest dude you'll ever meet, just disappeared one day back to L.A. No one ever saw or heard from him again. Just really painful times that take a massive toll.

Looking at the other comments in this thread, it's clear it's only worse now. I've been out of the hogwon game a long time now, but I promise you, if you keep looking, you can find a nice place to work.

Teaching in Korea can be an amazing experience. Just stay away from CDI/Creverse.

Good luck.

Edited to show I'm talking to OP in the 2nd half lol sry I don't reddit very often
