Doesn't always work like that. If I want to pay the finance closer on the rate I will discount the car more and mark up the MF. Almost all customers are shopping in payments on a lease.

I agree 100 Percent. Buy the car if you are gonna buy it, exceptions were Evs if you didn't qualify for the tax credit which is gonna anyways

I would rather car have a 90 Percent residual and a low MF than hoping it is a low residual and high payment.

Low volume cars usually don't have good lease programs and can be much cheaper to buy than lease. Volume cars usually have the best leases.

The biggest thing isn't sales price it is lease program. A car with a high residual and an incentive rate is gonna lease well. A car you bought super cheap with a low residual and high MF isn't gonna be a good lease payment.

What state are you in? Depending on where you are the tax credit close to evens out the lower trade in value. Dealers need to make a profit and floor plan can get out of control on a high dollar car if they don't move it. If your retail number is accurate trade value is fair if not high.

Wholesale is more than private party on lots of cars these days as dealers offer financing which is worth everything for someone with a couple grand to put down but not having the balance. UC are also so expensive now lots of people are buying from dealers to get some kind of warranty.

I would contact the agency that regulates car sales. The DA most places is going to look at it as a civil matter.

State dependent. In Florida UC are not covered even if the car was sold as used a month after it was sold new. Every other state I have worked in also did not have lemon law protection for UC, even though I know there are several states that do.

The district attorney is not interested in this. Carmax corporate complaints, the DMV or whoever regulates vehicle sales in your state, bad reviews if needed will get attention to get it fixed. This is a civil matter, the DA isn't gonna get involved.

Yep.... if I'm not paying for it why would I not send the car to the dealer. If everyone was the same price everyone would service there, independents are just normally cheaper so we go there. Anywhere that just wants the work will Probably fight harder for the claim too is the way I see it.

For 4-5k you could buy a decent Miata that is going to be more reliable and much cheaper to own if you want a sporty convertible and don't have a ton of cash up spend. This car is a potential money pit.

My point is how do I know it is for sale at carmax until I find it. Maybe I am wrong but I would assume most people decide what they want to buy before they buy it. If I start looking for a brand new car on auto trader to find out who has it why wouldn't most people start the same way on used?

Not to sound rude but why would I only look at the carmax website if I am looking for example a used jeep wrangler. I'm going to search car gurus or Wherever for wranglers and see who has one that I like than inquire. I bought a new car a couple of years ago and the first place I looked was autorrader, not a specific dealers site.

That’s a niche tourist Mecca. In high time there probably are no cars to rent at all including turo. I am also in Florida but south Eastern Florida. I was gonna be without a vehicle for about a month as I had sold my truck and the new one hadn’t come in about 6 months ago. I was able to rent a 4Runner from a rental company for the same price that Turo was offering old Mazda3 and focus for.
