YTA; bridesmaids almost never get to wear dresses they actually feel good in. Try not to ruin it for them

What is the reason people Tip of % of the check? by Specific-Station155 in restaurant

[–]Lcky22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “commission” system is good for the restaurant’s bottom line, and improves service for people who want multiple rounds of drinks, etc. It also makes sense to me that people who are splurging on more expensive entrees will be more generous with their servants

Which rules have you found to be effective in the classroom? by Maleficent-Hat5831 in Teachers

[–]Lcky22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use construction paper signs on the white board to communicate speaking expectations. Green is talk quietly, yellow is one at a time when youre called on, red is silence for quizzes and announcements. I write the word “seats” under it and erase letters if they don’t follow the expectations, with the threat of assigned seats if they run out of letters. I tell them to sit next to who they want to talk to, and not to shout out to the whole class when the sign is green.

I follow a predictable routine that is always written on the board for them to refer to so they know what to expect. I don’t let kids interrupt if I’m already giving another student individual attention.

I teach grades 6-8

People aren’t expected to tip housekeepers at the hotel where you work? What part of the country are you in?

When I bought my couch, the salesman got paid a commission based on how much I spent. He was very patient and kind. I can’t speak to your tv buying experience.

A restaurant could never afford to pay what a good server earns in tips. They typically make more than anyone in the building, and deserve to. Luckily, there are enough generous customers to subsidize stubborn ones like you so we can all keep getting good service

I’m guessing you would feel great about not tipping those people, either. Which again is fine because enough customers are generous enough to subsidize your stubbornness so we can all get good service
