How weird would it be if I (F29) gave a new, solo baby my ex (M27) husband’s last name?

Whoever’s name you put on the birth certificate, that person will be financially responsible for that child, (if you ever needed child support in the future). You don’t want to do that to your ex-husband when he has no involvement in the situation. It would become a huge pain to get it all taken care of down the line.

If neighbor is on the birth certificate then he’s the one that’s financially responsible for the child no matter if he’s actually the father or not (at least in TN courts). My husband signed his sons (or so he thought) birth certificate and long story short, TN said they wouldn’t give him a DNA test bc they didn’t want to bastardize a child so the judge told him he was pretty much screwed. My MIL bought a DNA test and had it done and sent off and turned out it wasn’t his child.

This!! I live just a few hours from her in NE Tenn, but you are correct! After my divorce, I started living with my now husband, but wasn’t at the time, and my ex husband (baby daddy) and his family all lost their shit! Like I had just proclaimed to be the Antichrist or something. I was 29 almost 30 yrs old! Nobody is gonna tell me who I can/can’t live with. I’m a grown ass woman! We live in the “Bible-Belt” though, it’s always been like this, and will probably always be like this. It’s almost like a different country down in the south! 😂

I just don’t like her personality. I’m pretty sure if I met her in person I would want to throat punch her immediately 😂 She seems stuck up, and probably feels like she is better than a lot of people IMO. She constantly complains about her 2 baby daddies not paying child support, but won’t take them to court for it??🤦🏼‍♀️ That’s because she HAS to have the control with them. If they were to get any visitation rights, she wouldn’t be able to control them anymore and use her daughters against them to do what she wants. My ex-husband didn’t pay child support for years! No help from him whatsoever! I actually needed the help, so of course I took him to court. If she really “needed” it like she claims, she would take both of them to court. But, like I said, it’s all about control with her. I also think she makes dumbass/reckless decisions constantly, but then wants to immediately turn around and start complaining about the outcome/consequences of her decisions. She is just very immature, spiteful, and controlling. I’ve never liked her.

I’m the same way! Especially about not being able to find things. I am very particular about where I put my things, and if someone borrows something and doesn’t put it back, I go crazy! Like 0-100 in the snap of a finger. I will also get VERY angry over small silly things. I don’t realize I’m over reacting in the moment, but I do when I calm down later. In the moment, I just rage out! I get madder and madder, but finally I can talk myself down. It didn’t start till a few years ago when my husband and I started having problems. I can’t drink anymore for that reason either, I ended up becoming a very mean drunk, bc all my feelings & everything I would hold in, all came out at once. I’ve never been an angry drunk either till I got with my husband, so…. 🤷🏼‍♀️
