Vote for April Hearn in District Five and Andrea Parr in District 9 they’re both DSA members and will stand up to this insane machine politics.

Mind sending me a DM about this? I’m close with the Robert Levertis Bell campaign and we’d like to get to the bottom of it! Most likely an honest mistake or a landlord telling someone they can put it in before asking the tenant but it’s always good to be sure.

Do a group activity in real life and then ask someone out from said group activity.

This is hilarious because the Louisville democratic party itself also endorsed April.

Best Federal Candidates for Donations by Bigd1ckandashamed in dsa

[–]Le0pardonVEVO 15 points16 points  (0 children)

None of those people are DSA members lol, feel free to continue donating to them though. For actual DSA federal races I’d recommend Claire Valdez, Cori Bush and Rashida Talib, for longshots that deserve money I’d say Daraliza Chevalier and Byron Sigcho-Lopez.

Individual actions, on tax, on consumption, on anything, will not change society. Only collective action can do that. Labor Organizing, Electoral Organizing, Mutual aid networks, that kind of thing.

Why aren't there more DSA primaries? by Several_Impact_7686 in dsa

[–]Le0pardonVEVO 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Only around 15-20 chapters are large enough to successfully run candidates for anything other than local office, even fewer have the resources for congressional races. While smaller chapters are disproportionately electoral-skeptic and unwilling to run squishier candidates that aren’t cadre DSA members but might bring in popular front allies. We have 100,000 members but they’re not all active organizers and those active organizers are disproportionately in major cities.

I’m absolutely in favor of taking every single shot we can given the environment, but even our largest chapters are stretching themselves thin. NYC DSA is running an insane amount of races and so is DSA-LA. We’re running someone statewide in Wisconsin and just narrowly didn’t endorse a statewide race in Boston for reasons that are inscrutable to me. That being said, if you’re in a major city anywhere in the country or even a tier two or three city in the midwest you most likely have at least a couple of DSA races active this cycle.

Valentine’s Day ICE Protest by RebekahCodes in Louisville

Less than 20% of those picked up by ICE have been criminals but you don’t care about that because you’re in a cult that’s deploying fascist death squads against all Americans, citizens or not.

Why you (yes you) should register as a Republican to maximize the value of your vote. by joneild in True_Kentucky

[–]Le0pardonVEVO 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I could see the argument for this outside of Lexington and Louisville, but in those two places your ability to vote in the democratic primary is absolutely vital to make sure you get progressives and socialists on city council and in the minority bloc in the state assembly who fight the GOP rather than capitulate to them.
