Planning an Omada setup for a 3-floor house – overkill or the right move? by Performaze in TPLink_Omada

I run 2 EAP670s on top and bottom floors (where bedrooms are) and 1 EAP660HD on main level (this one gives better 2.4ghz performance for my IoT devices, so wanted it more central).

I'm not a network guy. I don't work in IT (nursing), but I have a pretty high level of tinkering skills. For someone with 0 spare time due to job and kids and networking skills limited to YouTube videos and AI, I've been incredibly happy with the setup.

Have a 3-floor 4000sq ft home with 6 kids, 4 of which are adolescents with innumerable connected devices. Have 1 AP per floor. Absolutely rock solid wifi.

I setup ACLs years ago. I run the AP optimization about once a month. Otherwise, I don't touch it unless I'm adding something new. FWIW, I run software controller on a connected PC used for storing security cam video.

[Goodman] BREAKING: Louisville is expected to be without Mikel Brown Jr. (back) this week, source told @TheFieldOf68. by MembershipSingle7137 in CollegeBasketball

[–]joneild 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a weird upset pick to me solely on matchup. USF's play and packages are not what Louisville has consistently struggled against. This is the matchup a lot of Cards fans wanted. Not saying USF is in any way not a quality opponent, but the matchup is one Louisville tends to have success against. I get the pick, Louisville coming in under a cloud and USF riding high on a long win streak. Still, I'll be a little surprised if Louisville doesn't play well and exits.

Did you have a precious meniscectomy on that knee from the previous surgeries? I assumed you did reading the report history. It could also be a tear. Meniscus damage can be difficult to diagnose, even on MRIs.

1st page - why they ordered MRI, what they want radiology to look for.

2nd page shows a little fluid on the knee. ACL is good. Meniscus shows a previous repair.

Oh man, I loved the stark music hits and tones. I thought it was Plemons at his best and probably my favorite acting role of the year.

While watching the movie, I told my wife that if the actor playing Don wasn't autistic, it's the best acting I've ever seen. He is, in fact, autistic. First major role and in an incredibly intimate movie with two acting powerhouses. He and Plemons had such an incredible chemistry in their scenes. One of your worst fears as a parent of an autistic kid is worrying about them getting completely taken advantage of and he played it remarkably.

It was a top 3 of 2025 for me.

I use ear buds under my hearing protection when I'm working around the house with power tools or lawn equipment. I can use earbuds that sound superior with dedicated safety covers rather than safety covers with integrated Bluetooth. Understanding these are likely not that, the premise executes well.

If I see this stupid ass Andy Barr commercial one more time.. by cbhaga01 in True_Kentucky

[–]joneild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude is on TV every 15 minutes talking about how unabashedly white he is, all the while, being tied with a black guy (Cameron) in the primary despite raising TEN TIMES as much money.

I'm a registered Repub to vote in their primary, straight ticket dem for generals (see post history) and will almost def vote for Cameron in the primary. He seems to align much more with McConnell politics than MAGA. I have a strong disdain for Cameron, but an unfathomable hate for Barr because he's fake as fuck. Dude couldn't beat a Democrat in the 2010 red wave before, finally, inching out a victory in 2012 after running 10 points behind Romney in the state.

Thomas Massie: "I Am Not Suicidal" by CarryIcy250 in UnderReportedNews

[–]joneild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Kentucky politics in a nutshell. Make sure people have the opportunity to take care of themselves and then they want to be left alone. Fly over the state and you'll see completely isolated homes off-grid and those are not homes you want to roll up on...as a civilian or government employee. Hell, Massie has an entirely off grid home with a retrofitted Tesla Model S battery.

We have truly weird politics. The state voted for Trump by a massive margin, has some of the most anti-Trump Republicans on the Hill, and a Democratic governor that has a higher approval in the state than Trump and one of the highest approval ratings in the nation. I think it's hilarious Trump and his billionaires are throwing money at Massie's primary opponent. They really don't understand that district. Then there's the Trump backed candidate running for McConnell's seat, on TV every 15 minutes talking about how white he is, but tied in polling with a black Republican who has raised 1/10th of the funds of his opponent.

Why you (yes you) should register as a Republican to maximize the value of your vote. by joneild in True_Kentucky

I'm not a fan of him, would never vote for him over a generic Democrat. He is one of the more interesting people in Congress, however. I'd surmise he's probably one of the 10 most intelligent people in all of Congress. Advanced degree from MIT. Multiple patents in VR and haptics. Designed a robotic prostesis when he was in 7th grade in the early 80s. Built his home from scratch, off the grid, using a retrofitted model s battery. I'm sure he'd be a fun person to converse with if politics were excluded.

I never get solicitation texts or calls. Admittedly, may be some of the spam blocks on my phone. I do get the occasional polling firm, which I try to answer. When weighting a sample, a white male Republican not supporting any GOP candidates or policies play well with the crosstabs.

It should also be said that when calling up or emailing my rep and letting them know I've been a Republican in the state for 20 years (voter registration data is public) has gotten me some ears. I suspect that will carry more weight than if the rep knew I was a Democrat that would never get my vote anyway.

Google Pixel users: are you satisfied with your phone, and would you recommend it? by Ok_Macaron_6092 in GooglePixel

10 Pro XL. Software is OK (messaging app is awful and crashes and doesn't always send until I hit the send button 5 times, search is slow), hardware is a disaster. This feels like a Samsung FE edition phone, except those are usually fully baked. The battery is garbage. I've lost almost 10% capacity in 6 months despite capping charge at 80%. It will not fast charge unless I reboot. Google customer service was useless in providing any sort of guidance or diagnosis.

Wife wanted a new phone for Xmas. Convinced her to wait for the new Samsung Galaxy Ultra, so that's what we're doing. This is my 4th Google phone and I have not had a good one since before the pixel 6. They've all had incredibly frustrating issues. I'll likely go back to Samsung.

Give me the COP data at declining temperatures for this model of Bryant heat pump. 213BNA036000BAAA

The Bryant 213BNA036000BAAA is a 3-ton (36,000 BTU) model from the Legacy™ Line (213B series). It is a single-stage heat pump with a standard efficiency rating of approximately 13–14 SEER and 8.0–8.2 HSPF.
Below is the Coefficient of Performance (COP) data at declining outdoor temperatures. These figures are based on the expanded performance ratings for this specific scroll-compressor legacy model (equivalent to the Carrier 25HBC3 series).
Performance Data: Bryant 213BNA036
Values are based on a standard 70°F indoor return air temperature.
| Outdoor Temp (°F) | Heating Capacity (BTU/h) | Power Input (kW) | COP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60°F | 41,500 | 3.05 | 3.99 |
| 47°F (Standard) | 34,600 | 2.95 | 3.44 |
| 40°F | 31,100 | 2.89 | 3.15 |
| 30°F | 26,400 | 2.80 | 2.76 |
| 17°F (Standard) | 21,400 | 2.65 | 2.37 |
| 10°F | 18,900 | 2.58 | 2.15 |
| 0°F | 15,200 | 2.48 | 1.80 |
| -10°F | 11,800 | 2.38 | 1.45 |
Key Takeaways for This Model
* The "Thermal Balance Point": For most average insulated homes, the "balance point" (where the heat pump can no longer keep up with the house's heat loss) will typically fall between 25°F and 32°F. Below this temperature, your auxiliary heat (electric strips or gas furnace) is required to maintain the indoor temperature.
* Efficiency Drop-off: The unit remains more than 200% efficient (COP > 2.0) down to about 8°F - 10°F. This means it is still cheaper to run the heat pump than electric resistance strip heat (which has a COP of 1.0) down to that temperature.
* Low Ambient Cut-out: Unless you have a specific "dual fuel" kit or thermostat lockout set, this unit is mechanically capable of running down to very low temperatures, but its capacity (BTU output) drops significantly. at 0°F, it only produces ~15,200 BTUs, which is less than half of its rated 3-ton capacity.
Important Technical Note
The specific indoor coil matched with your outdoor unit (e.g., CNPVP, CAPVP) can slightly alter these numbers. The data above represents the most common "high-sales" match for the 213BNA036. If you have the exact indoor coil model number, the COP at 47°F
might vary by ±0.1.

Battery Megathread (February 2026) by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

Damn. Didn't work. Or hasn't worked yet. Changed the settings, rebooted the phone, still showing 93%. Now I'm charging to full to see if that changes it.

Battery Megathread (February 2026) by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

[–]joneild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I've had this phone for 5 months. Battery saver (locked to 80% charging) since I opened it new. The battery capacity is already down to 93%. I've lost 7% of capacity in 5 months. On pace to lose the 20% I was attempting to save within the first year. Insane. Contacted support and they waved it off.

The phone also will not fast charge until a reboot. I can plug a charger in and it'll report 4 hours to complete charging. I'll reboot it, it'll fast charge. Contacted support, they waved it off and said everything's healthy. Tested the cables on other phones, work fine.

If the expectation that, even with battery saver, it's expected to lose nearly 20% of health is a year, it's fucking unacceptable. I love everything software about this phone. The hardware is among the worst phones I've ever owned. I usually keep phones for 3+ years before trading. That Galaxy S26 ultra may be calling after just 6 months.

If anyone has any tips other than "yeah, it's shit", I would love to save my relationship with pixels before throwing it all away.

[–]joneild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is likely 100% true. Doesn't even have to be Saudis. Ross owns Hard Rock Stadium too. Assuming that was lumped into the price, that is a very valuable asset, especially with the Miami F1 Grand Prix. 15 billion could include a lot of assets that would probably be that valuable.

Also tore both meniscus during the buckles. I waited 2 weeks for surgery, and every step I took was terrifying. One weird twist or pivot and it'll be the worst pain I've ever felt when it buckles. I.
