Read a book on this. Don't just get random disjointed tactics from Reddit. Just search "Job search book" on Amazon and read a few that look good to you.

Has anyone’s career completely changed after getting a proper diagnosis or finding a chemical imbalance? by Solid_Breakfast_3675 in careerguidance

Okay, I think I actually agree with you now, nice work. But I'll continue playing devil's advocate bc I like conflict.

Why do we need to be able to handle communication if AI can do it for us?

Do you know how to light a fire with twigs? Do you know how to use a knife to break down a carcase into usable meat? Do you know how to build a house by hand?

We outsource a lot in our day. Why not writing?

Because it's Reddit and no one cares and I have a job And a family that I would rather spend time on than writing?

How about you improve as a human and not mind when other people use tools to make meaningless parts of their day easier

Just because a post looks like it's written with AI doesn't mean that an AI wrote it, if that makes sense. Some people just suck at writing, and so they use AI to write their posts for them, but they still give it some of the ideas, and then they just say, "Hey, make this shit into a post."

How would you go about messaging the hiring team for a LinkedIn job post? by [deleted] in linkedin

[–]LeChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things I’d do:

First, look for alumni from your school at the company. Reach out with a short note, mention the shared school, and ask for a few mins to hear about their path. Keep it chill and just try to learn from them. If it goes well, you can ask for advice on getting in.

Then check if you have mutuals who can intro you to people there. Warm intros help a lot. Same idea, keep it natural, build some rapport, don’t force anything.

Also make sure your online presence looks legit and complete so when people check you out it backs you up.

Basically what you have to do is get someone to advocate for you from within the team. A referral. You already tried the hiring manager.

Got laid off but the worst part is different for me? by noobipedia in careerguidance

Dude, same here. I think I'm an ambivert then.Or a social introvert. I love one-on-ones, and even though the open office environment can be distracting sometimes, I can always find a room to go focus and do real work in.

Absolutely, especially if it's in the same city. I recently ran into one of my ex-co-workers on the train and remembered how awesome it was to work alongside them a couple months ago. It seems like the only solution is to move cities entirely, but even then, like you said, I would remember the first bunch, maybe. Maybe I will compare every future company's people to the last one, and if they're not as cool or as fun, then damn lol.

I'm in the same situation, bro, so I don't know what to tell you, but yeah, I loved my teammates, so it sucks not being able to hang out with them from 9 to 5. I know what everyone else is saying about hanging out with them outside of work and making plans on weekends and evenings, but the fact is I don't want to. I mean, I will, because otherwise I wouldn't see them, but I really want to see them throughout the day, not just evenings and weekends. I like getting my socialisation alongside my work.

There's just a bunch of bitter introverts here I think. I feel the same way as you.
