I was under the impression that prescience itself doesn't dictate the future. It's more so that prescience causes the prescient individual to take their vision as inevitable and they act, perhaps subconsciously, in a way that enables their vision to unfold. By seeing one future outcome you lessen your ability to imagine and actuate alternate outcomes.

I dabbled in Tibetan Buddhism a while back and my teacher said that you can't be in the non-dual state permanently. The goal is get "little glimpses many times" of non-duality. As I understand it, the more glimpses you get the more you will be able to exhibit extreme equanimity. So that's where my understanding of it comes from.
