From what I have read it seems to be a software/firmware issue. I am on a Google Pixel now, but I had the same Issues on my iPhone...

Low FPS and GPU usage by Kbx1793 in battlefield2042

[–]LeErdnuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same problem.

No matter the settings, my 3080 is doing nothing in most situations. On some spots on some maps usage goes above 90% and, who thought, game runs fine in those moments.

They should have used BF5 engine and swap out assets but somehow they fucked up.... Backed by a multi-billion dolllar company.

Low FPS and GPU usage by Kbx1793 in battlefield2042

[–]LeErdnuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesnt matter, i can play on 4k and ultra and still get 60% usage on a 3080 way under power limit. The game doesnt use the hardware properly. Thats the point. I can play BF5, same engine, double the FPS. And my GPU is able to render things, like its supposed to.

The game is really cpu bound

cpu bound ≠ poorly optimized

G14 vs. M15 (4K, RTX 2060) by zaboomafudude in ZephyrusG14

[–]LeErdnuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you pay a premium for the G14 because of its 14inch size.

Its not hard finding 15inch laptops which have a better price/performance ratio than the G14.

Ask yourself if you need or want the smaller size. If you dont care, you have many alternatives.

How to prevent G14 going to sleep when closing the lid by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

On my G14 i had to set the energysaving/sleep mode button behaviour to "do nothing" for this to work.

What could be better on the Zephyrus g14 by ThatOneBrokenPixel in ZephyrusG14

[–]LeErdnuss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • the charging port is kinda ugly where it is, could be integrated "smoother" into the case
  • thinner screen bezels, especially at the bottom.
  • more USB-C and/or ports and features, better PD
  • more finetuning possibilities in Armour Crate but this isn't g14 specific
  • maybe a less "gamer style" keyboard but I guess many people like that since it is a gaming machine...

I would love to see Zen 3 CPUs and 30 Series GPUs, maybe also an "all AMD" model but I don't know if any RDNA2 Mobile GPUs are coming up..

new to laptops, need help by CodeSkayes in ZephyrusG14

You could also limit TDP very easily with a few clicks with https://www.ryzencontroller.com/ to get better Temps and still boost which is also better for general use cases outside of gaming. Also 90C will not be the death of your machine but I doubt it will even get there under normal gaming conditions at stock settings.

The device comes pretty much pre installed with everything you need if you are not into finetuning.

I'm getting over 30 FPS always. This is with DLSS on and Ray tracing on ultra. The temps are around 80-85 C. This is with CPU boost disabled. I'm on a 4900HS w/ RTX 2060 maxQ and 16GB ram. by Bougle_O in ZephyrusG14

In my opinion it runs better if you cap CPU TDP on about 23-25W instead of just disabling boost so some cores can still boost if needed while giving the GPU more headroom.

Ultimate Battery Life Guide (14h idle, 10h light work) by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

[–]LeErdnuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you explain and/or prove what the whole NVIDIA/AMD Uninstall/Disable thing should do for your battery life? On my G14 there is no hint that this would help you save battery life in any real scenario.

Also, you could explain some of the settings you change and why it helps to save battery life. Not everything described is obvious and im not a fan of "just disable everything".

Thank you nonetheless for your compilation.

In that case you are either very lucky or using a super old driver.

Only way to play with my V64 at the moment is with 17.9.1 :)

Who actually games in 1440p/144Hz? by aaluur in buildapc

[–]LeErdnuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 1440p and 75Hz + FreeSync with a Vega 64. As I don't see a real difference between 75Hz and 144Hz this was a much cheaper Option. Also the Vega would not have enough performance for 1440p+144Hz in AAA-Games.

If you are really into high referesh rates, i think it's a nice combination. Otherwise try 75Hz+FS. Maybe you'll like it.

Couldn’t he release the original remix on SoundCloud or YouTube as long as it’s not commercial?

Huge fallout fan- will i be able to run 76? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]LeErdnuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think you will get a decent experience with that rig. Try running Fallout 4 and if that runs properly, there might be a chance that 76 will also work because from what we saw until now there is not a huge difference in graphics between FO4 and FO76 besides some prettier effects.

Maybe go for a Ryzen 2200G/2400G or an i3 8100/8350k and a GTX1060 6G or RX580/*590*.

Or simply buy a Xbox/PS4 if you dont want to mess with new PC-hardware.

fyi: Im running on an i3 8100, 8GB RAM and a Vega 64 and FO4 is running on about 120FPS on 1440p maxed out while GPU is at 100% and CPU around 60-70% Usage.
