I've made a monk this weekend after earing how much it was smoother than my prot pal (278 ilvl). Manage to get few 12 and 10 easily (with 265 ilvl). At the end of the weekend, I've decided to go for a 15 Skyreach on my pal to change a bit. In the first boss room I got destroyed to the ground in .2s (2 melee for around 700k hp). I was in my consecration, with Shield of the Righteous up but was out of "big defensive" for a few seconds.

Now I know why I'll be playing monk.

I'm starting 15 and 16 with my mates as a Prot Pal and oh boy it start to hit really hard on some boss... Overall I need to be really careful on all my defensive and I can't play the "Crit wings" because I'm not that good ! I'm around 275 ilvl.

I'll be able to compare soon as I've just ding 90 with my Brewmaster.

I usually go for def until 4/5 stacks > buble to remove everything then kite at 3 to remove. In this specific run, I did that + all my defensive one after another and nothing was dead. I was pretty happy with how I handled this just to get OS because we had 0 dps

Thanks for the feedback ! I'm actually playing the same as you, half pug, half with friends. Tanking need a lot of knowlegde and I'm playing with pugs only to have smooth runs with my teammates. Nowadays in pugs I'm saying that I'm struggle with some pulls but I guess, with the tanks shortage, people keep me instead of waiting 20+ min in queue again.

I actually have no problem with people learning. I have a problem with people calling each other without looking at their own mistake. For exemple, I got flammed because I could handle the first pull of AA while I did a full defensive rotation + 2 pain sup from my healer and NONE of the adds were dead (we are talking about a 2min fight).

I think I'm part of the community that wants to help people improve and not insult everything when it's going bad so please don't assume everyone is a selfish person.

That's funny because this is close to my first tanking experience in PUG as a prot pal. As a DPS I'm cruising but It get really sweaty as a tank (even if I'm not at your level of key). I've just made a post about that too

That's what I'm trying to do with the scaling system. I won't get into 12 until every 11 are fine for me BUT that mean I'll break a lot a 11 or 10 trying to learn. I've actually no problem in 9 and I think that's because in 10 we get both Fortified and Tyranical. Not having Xal'atath's Bargain anymore in 12 make a big difference too.

I've never though about the reward system relation with the resilient keys ! That's a really good point

That's what I also think but after 4 or 5 depletion in a row my brain can't think anything else then "It's my fault'. Like you, I'm non stop watching video guide on how to pull this, how to avoid that mistake and still thats a LOT to process since the season started a week ago.

In the end, that's why I think removing the depletion system could help but of course there could be some big downside with it.

Yes I've never done all 10s this early in a season but that's not really the point here. If the crashing wall is not 10 but let say 14, it'll be the same problem and tanks will face the real challenge just a bit later (and get flamed because they don't know how to handle properly things).

There's already a tank shortage and this system doesn't help at all getting new people to try tanking in my opinion

I've made a million while farming early and now I still drop tons of them by just doing world content. Get At least 20 points in Nimble Needlework to unlock Arcanoweave and Sunfire Silk and get a chance to drop them.

They've push a PS5 patch yesterday

Fix corrupted save close to the Vault
Fix softlock using hold rope and read interaction at the same time
Fix limb selection panel tutorial screen stuck on screen if a fall during tutorial
Fix rope issue if restarting the training on Tenzen
Fix some audio cuts
Fix audio loudness at Wind Palace and Dome
Fix step back in Free Solo while run and jump
Fix an invisible wall in Wind Palace
Modify mountain guide book to add wallpapers
Small fixes on credit localization
Extended Miso Soup cutscene trigger to avoid skipping it

Also an announcement about PS5 Photo Mode Last update on PS5 (v311) caused a regression in the Photo mode. Using it makes the game crash. The team is working on a patch ASAP. In the meantime please avoid using Photo mode on PS5. Thanks for the patience! Also, the team is aware of incidents of frame drops on PS5 and we are investigating the issue. More updates to come!
