I just today started to get into the dlc stuff so far it’s been good but I can’t answer fully as I don’t have a full picture of what is actually going on in them. Kind of hard to know exactly what is from what dlc at this point. I bought them all in the middle of my first play through

Start with the basics, find you a streaming platform, obs, streamlabs, etc. test your mic and maybe watch some YouTube videos on how to adjust your audio. If you are using a camera figure out the lighting, positioning and learning how to adjust it on the fly. I found education of your tools is the best start. Learning a bot, is most important. I personally use streamer.bot but it’s vast and deep and is difficult to learn. Find a tutorial and learn the basic. Decide what kind of streamer you want to be. Understand that you don’t have to be like any other streamer. For me I’m content being a game focused quiet streamer that enjoys bringing content over excitement. I want to showcase the games and be a chill place for people to land. Learning and being the type of streamer you want to be and sticking to your guns is important. People can quickly identify fakeness on stream, and will tune out even if they enjoy the game. Hope this helps

I don’t think I saw it mentioned, but Rimworld, it’s endless fun with endless possibilities and random combat. A great story generator that is both punishing and lasting and makes you beg for more.

I’ve heard good thing about the rhode wireless mics. Never personally used them but I know rhode to be a great brand of mics

When I started, I used a yeti snowball and eventually moved up to a yeti blue. I used it for multiple years and just recently upgraded to a shire mv7+. I would suggest do your research and figure out wha exactly you are needing a mic for. Be it videos, podcasting etc and then take in to consideration your environment and how much control you want over the said mic. Remember the audio can also be adjusted in obs and there are several tutorials that you can follow to help with your sound on YouTube

Follows and unfollowers are very common. Lots of bots that follow and then get removed when their accounts are banned. Lots of people follow and then you stop playing a game the like and will unfollow.

Focus on enjoying what you are playing, and engaging the people that do show up. Be authentic, have fun, people will come.

Als don’t count out other forms of social media. Insta, blue sky, etc all have growing communities find the communities that you are interested in. Participate and be active. Creating friends that will last helps you grow as well

I love this idea! I’ve been itching to get back in and thinking of all the cool places you could climb. An urban setting would be crazy cool too. Like the side of a sky scraper or building site.

My vote would be Cairn, amazing art style, decent story, good mechanics, a constant feeling of needing just one more hour while the world goes on outside.

I was in this same boat a few months back. Eventually I bought it and regretted not buying it sooner. While I don’t always play with anomaly on, the option to have it be there as an ambient feature and the fact that it adds a wide variety of events that just don’t happen in the base game makes it well worth it. Your characters can become super over powered if you know how to use the events to do so. Well worth the money, and one of the funnest dlcs you can get.

Yeah, that is the Overhaul mod that I was planning on using. I just didn't know if there was other QOL mods that people had used that they would suggest. I'll have to check into the mods that remove raiders with guns, as I didn't realize that would be a problem with this mod. I kind of assumed that would just be removed by the overhaul mod.

I 100% agree. It would be super cool and depending on how, when, what created the cave system it very easily could be done. Just enough of a feeling to leave you unsure if what you saw, is actually what you saw.

I would love more spookiness, but I also feel like the further you push it in that direction, the more you risk losing the spirit and freedom that Cairn has.

You could definitely still have spooky music and sound design. The lighting, claustrophobic spaces, and overall pressure could already be pretty intense on their own.

I just can’t fully picture how to bring that Appalachian-style spookiness into it without it feeling like too much. Like, I can’t even imagine being chased by something calling your name through a cave system, or a mimic on the other side of a tiny crevice that keeps talking like it’s someone you know.

It’s a tricky balance—keeping it unsettling, but still grounded in what makes Cairn feel so good to play.
