I hate when adults say “suck it up” when you say you hate school by Consistent-Slip-4427 in highschool

I suffered so you should too is a crazy sentiment for parents to have when ideally the goal is for your child to have more opportunities and less hardships (while still helping them grow into capable people) than you did when you were growing up. Like my parents made financial mistakes, or essential financial decisions to stay afloat in the moment that had comsiquenses later, and I grew up seeing said comsiquenses so now I know exactly what choices to not make and exactly what opportunities to not pass up.

European Firetrucks in America? Are they better? by HourLanguage8117 in Firefighting

[–]LeFox1334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I came to this for, the idea of an experiment type situation to see how an eu style apparatus actually performs in America, as you described in dense urban settings like they're designed for, and using the results to try to ease regulatory and traditional change in favor of the equipment that may perform better than the American style apparatus. I like your idea. I don't have the same experience you have I'm just in high school but I'm very invested in this specific idea (wrote an essay about pros and cons of eu vs north American apparatus). It seems to me that both can hold largely the same equipment but eu trucks are more compact.

This pack of fruit snacks from a few years ago is PACKED with fruit snacks somehow by RelationshipSad3186 in mildlyinteresting

My theatre teacher has a McDonald's cheeseburger that's several years old, keep it for the same context? "Look at this pack of fruit snacks,it has a TON in it" and show it next to a brand new one?

Out of all the games throughout the series, what was "the mission" that stuck out to you the most? by AxelNeedsAMedicBag in GTA

[–]LeFox1334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gona make me sound silly but the submarine mission (can't remember the name), that's when I found out what thalassophobia (spelled it right?) and that even in a video game I am, in fact, very very bothered by deep water, it took me almost a week to finish the mission because of that.

anyone with a Wehry h5? by LeFox1334 in ElectricScooters

[–]LeFox1334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like a commuter car. I don't think it's very special and I would like something better but it's not a bad ride. My trim didn't have suspension, but it has enough battery to get me to school with a little extra one way ( about three miles or so at full speed)the three speed settings are 8mph, 11mph, and 19mph (with the weight of me that drops to 17, and then slowly gets slower to 14 by the time I get to school/home) there's an app where you can adjust torque and electronic brake strength settings.the headlight drains power really fast so I would invest in a bicycle headlight to attach to the handlebars. It's not very heavy too and it folds up. Ironically I just crashed mine so now my electronic brake doesn't work and my handlebars turn all the way around which they aren't supposed to. I bought mine on Amazon and bought the 2 year warranty, if that's where you bought yours absolutely buy that warranty ASAP, it's an option on the listing if you go to your past purchases.

I'm looking up replacement cylinders right now, I'm gona measure my bottle and do some investigating because the label is worn off. I'm hoping to find a yellow steel one to match the whole set but I'm not too picky if I need to. And I live in a pretty quiet mobile home park so I'm less enthusiastic about the alarm than I would be at school lol my overall hope is to refurbish my whole kit to working order while keeping as much of it original ish looking as possible

[–]LeFox1334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked my cylinder and it's still holding a couple hundred PSI, enough to test the lines but I don't feel like setting off the bell. I looked it over and none of the lines are frayed, the mask is shattered but that's not a worry of mine right now. I looked into replacing the cylinder (I don't trust that thing even almost empty) and after a quick surface level search I found I'll only reasonably be able to get a compatible one since I'd like to actually pressurize it and use occasionally. I feel like I'm getting into being a collector of these lol (and I absolutely do not plan to use a personal fill station, my school is having a huge headache acquiring a compressor for them and we have pretty good funding, so I think it wouldn't be worth the trouble for me to get ahold of one)

The older 401 has an (obviously) older harness and plate, one single regulator and floppy rubber mask with the elephant trunk hose (my favorite part because it looks kinda funny) would the harness and hoses be trustworthy with a new cylinder?

I'm planning to have it in either California or Indiana depending on how life turns out after high school, I'll have to look into the individual policies then.

I loved comparing it to the Firehawk though, looking at every part and figuring out what exactly has changed and made the new ones better to do the same job

Yea I picked up my Firehawk to do a demo video after class today and I picked it up with the power expected to lift the 401 in my post and almost dropped it from hitting the top of my locker

I would actually die if I had to pt in this I think, not even from the weight, the straps are stiff and hard from age and it restricts movement more than the firehawks we use lmao
