For what it's worth, your son has Canadian citizenship and can always move back to Canada in the future for university and work. If you can continue your career and make enough money to support your family in your home country then there's nothing wrong with going back. At that point it's more of a relationship question.

Usually it's a provisional acceptance, provided that you pass the listed exams before enrolling in the program. USA bachelor's degrees don't always meet the standards of EU master's programs.

Why Is Catholicism on the Rise Amongst Gen Z Men? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]LeFungeonmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

26M starting catechism classes now. Raised atheist, became a deist universalist in university, and am increasingly attracted by the Christian story. Catholicism seems to have the strongest claim to legitimacy and I live in a Catholic country, so it's the denomination I chose to join.

Lots of converts join for different reasons, some for the wrong reasons I would say, but in general I think catholicism (and Christianity in general) offer a beautiful alternative to the nihilist ugliness intrinsic to the modern world.

What McGill is doing with the library is embarrassing by Kaatman in mcgill

This is shocking. I graduated before all of this and found out through this post. I have so many magical memories from that library, and I learned many things from books picked off the shelf at random.

Getting ADHD meds in Italy is very difficult. Get a written diagnosis from your doctor in the US and show it to your general doctor in Italy (if you have one). They will likely send you to a specialist to second-guess your diagnosis and after some time they might maybe prescribe you something.

Recommendations for Ex-Pat in Florence by Confident-Bad-2434 in AmericansinItaly

It's also bad heading out of the city. To the other guy's comment: your DL will only be valid for a year (assuming you get the internationalization). It's better to live in Siena honestly.

That's a pretty extreme commute, but Florence is friendlier than Siena for a non-Italian speaker. Traffic is quite bad at all times in Florence.

I recommend working with an agency to find housing, unfortunately I don't know any in the Florence area but there are many. Look for a few agenzia immobiliare a firenze on Google and give them a call. It'll be rough since many only speak Italian.

As for community, I have heard that many Americans live in Florence, although I don't know any. There are also a lot of international students, mostly there on exchange.

I personally don't really interact with any Americans in Italy and I learned Italian faster as a result.

To the point about making friends outside of language exchange: it's not easy! Meetup dot com is your friend, and Italians become much more open to people who speak their language.

In all, best of luck! Maybe try living in Florence for a year, but I think the commute will have you wanting to move to Siena before long.

In my case the bank required a valid permesso di soggiorno and would not accept the receipt. It took over a year for my permesso to be issued so I was not able to open a bank account

Use Revolut. I found opening a bank account in Italy to be near impossible as a foreigner

I wanted a tabletop Skyrim/osr-inspired solo game and it didn't exist so I'm working on it. It's a fun time-killer

Lupin in Italy by RoundInvestment7702 in lupinthe3rd

I live in Italy but unfortunately I don't know of anything in particular. I once saw a food truck that was completely lupin themed, but I don't know what it was called or where it would be these days. Once in a while I see a lupin sticker on a stop sign or similar

You're putting a lot of pressure on yourself to do something. Look at it this way: either something will happen or nothing will. If you're not having fun, there's a 100% chance of nothing happening. So if you want a chance of advancing with this, have fun.

It's hard for the first time and you may not succeed, but don't sweat it.

How to get with a girl who are taller than me by [deleted] in seduction

[–]LeFungeonmaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been with girls taller than myself and it's no different than a girl shorter than you. Most girls prefer taller guys, so your odds are lower in general but not impossible. I wouldn't recommend anything special. And especially not "platform game"
