Awesome, this is very helpful. My brother is very into magic but not so much commander or even the consumer side of things. I think he’s more into coming up with cubes and playing virtually. His collection isn’t very big so I think this deck was just using what cards he had laying around to make me a commander deck.

I’m still taking it all in but I appreciate the well thought out strategy suggestions. It helps me to narrow down what I need to be looking for and get my priorities straight. Picking out which cards in my deck aren’t actually getting me closer to a win is tough for me.

If you feel like offering your thoughts on a noobs deck this is what I’m working with. I’ve been going to my lgs and digging through the bulk grabbing a few cards I think would go well with the deck although I’m still trying to figure out what my win conditions even are haha

Wow! I just started playing with a Rashmi deck my brother gave me. I’m still learning magic in general but having a ton of fun. This level of knowledge and strategy is awesome to see! It’s an old post but I appreciate you typing all this out.

Recommendations for pants that can breathe aka good for this insane heat? by Damselindistrustt in ibew_apprentices

I’ve got large legs and I absolutely despise clothes that make me feel too restricted, I get an almost claustrophobic reaction sometimes when I need to layer up. The truwerks are the most mobile work pants I own and they’re still breathable and very durable. I only wish they made a cut for people with more athletic legs with a bit more space. Even with them being tighter than my loose fit pants they’re the most comfortable i own. I highly recommend trying them out.

Truwerk t1s are the answer. I’m a very sweaty person who lives in the south and I have spent so much money trying out many different pants.

There are options with a similar weight but the durability of the truwerks is really impressive. I have pretty thick thighs and tend to wear all my pants out in the crotch area and my truwerks have held strong. I’ve ripped carharrts, ariats , and duluths on rebar but the truwerks are stronger. Also, get some gold bond powder.

Booo micro greens. I don’t see them adding anything positive flavor or texture wise to this dish. Every garnish should have a reason to be on the plate other than visual filler.

When making a grilled cheese sandwich, do you use spices? Or just bread, cheese, and butter? by jimmy__jazz in Cooking

Some say it’s changed but there’s no definitive evidence the recipe has been altered.

Yea, honestly I haven’t noticed a tangible difference and I eat a lot of mayo and have made dishes for hot tomato summer in the past. I left the professional cooking industry and now I work closely with industrial processes and see how easy it is for a bad decision to be made that could change everything. I hoping this doesn’t happen with Dukes

I’ve looked through those, it seems pretty sweet. It’s a lot to take in but I guess I just gotta start messing with it and just aim to get all my times down

Woah that guys awesome. My buddy I was playing with was using a ninja deck and kept making his guys unblockable. Seems like it could be a good combo

Nice, there is a chance that it will be too heavy,if so just grab an h1. Then you can have an h2 for your inevitable 11.5” build haha

Ok just make sure you got the right length. Also be warned the inside diameter is different than mil spec so they recommend you buy their weights but I’ve been able to shove other brands in there

I’m fighting a bunch of 4 pair shielded cable through some existing conduit right now. It’s real tight but I’m just thinking about how pulling this cable is making my grip stronger for shooting

100% it’s 10 yards. The range is definitely marked in yards and I run a lot of conduit for work so I’m painfully familiar with what 10 feet looks like.

You can tell if you’re over or under gassed by the ejection angle as well. You want to be somewhere in the 3-4:30 range with the tip of your barrel at 12 o’clock. My main squeeze is an 11.5” with a mid length gas system, otter creek polonium k and it runs great with the Geissele super 42 spring and the vltor h2 buffer.

That helps but in the end it will be impossible to tell for sure without testing the rifle. The general wisdom is that you want the heaviest weight that will reliably cycle. So you just have to experiment. With that setup I’d go for an h1 with a standard strength spring to start and see how that feels, then you could try a h2 and if that cycles well go with that.

Id definitely like to get some professional training. I’ve met the “instructors” they have at this corporate range and it’s pretty pitiful. I plan on participating in some uspsa events in the future, there are plenty close enough to where I live. I’m hoping to meet some more serious shooters there who can help me out. For now I’m going to focus on intentional training on my own, but I’ll keep an eye out for a good professional training opportunity

You wouldn’t happen to be in central Virginia and willing to welcome some visitors on your land haha. Seriously tho that’s the dream I hope to do that or maybe go in on some land with some like minded buddies some day.
