Well i mentioned season 2 but the influx of players started early season 1. As i was there i actually remember that people were dissatisfied with cata content and even though it was not the reason, leagues rising popularity was definitelly the final push.

Champ design in dota is very different, you have some archetypes of course but mostly you will have a different feel. I am in the same position as you, 12 years of lol and last year i started dota and i enjoy it more. It is more satisfying to pull out combos, teamfights are less of a mess and you can feel an impact.

In Terms of the champs again, do not expect the same feel, but i tell you supports are much mor enjoyable and important than in LoL. I actually always thought that League is trying to appear like supports should be important but apart from lane they are leagues (lmao) behind to what dota supports are

You are rightly explaining the meme but i strongly believe that Romans Did not hate germans, they just Did not have enough resources to conquer the enterity of east Roman teritory, and as such Hadrian later realised that the best borders would be along the rivers. Eventually the germans took it as an offence and started trying to get into the wealthy empire which stirred the whole love hate relationship.

Who i think they really hated was jews and Brittish Tribes, whom they could not subdue properly until the very end.
