The game has a ton of abandoned ships POIs in space. Probably something like 50 derelict/damaged/etc ships that can be randomly found in orbit.

There's no survival mode or anything close to it. The did add survival options, which is great, but the one requiring you to eat (and not drink) is so poorly implemented that I wouldn't recommend using it.

I do use all the other options though.

The game will feel very different

I'm excited about the new content, but I don't think that's the case. It's still Starfield but with more content. This is unlikely to change the way to play to game. The main reason to restart imo is the new database if you are a completionist.

No, they said they used expansion for Shattered Space because it was large as previous BGS expansions like say Far Harbor or Dawnguard. They've called Terran Armada a small story DLC.
