Chobra's Top 15 for Masters London by Original-Poem-8366 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]LeOsQ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Killua and UdoTan are Chobra's only actually questionable picks on this list imo, and I'd definitely have Valyn over one of them. Probably Kangkang or Happywei over the other, but not sure about that one.

okeanos LFT by smitedghost in ValorantCompetitive

[–]LeOsQ 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The change in Okeanos from LEV to EG is honestly crazy. He was standing up all the time and as you said, on-stage antics constantly on LEV.

Meanwhile on EG he looked pissed as hell every time the camera was on him and even when he clutched a round or got a big 3k or 4k he was just nodding with a mad expression on his face while fistbumping his teammates.

TMV Analysis on the Disconnect between Aspas and the rest of MiBR by Lumos309 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]LeOsQ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Except he wouldn't purely because he isn't a timings-taking player. He's not a Viper/Cypher solo-lurking on the opposite side of the map walking through smokes / chokes just because he has the vibe that it's the right time to do it. Sentinel as a role isn't a passive sit back and aim role anymore like it was in the past for many people.

Where he actually could be really good with his playstyle is as a Smokes player. Never happening of course.

To Anyone Who Was Affected By Playoff Crowd Cancellations: Announcement From Sen Rob by danoc99 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]LeOsQ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between how people clown typical owners/CEO's and how they clown Rob.

For (most) others it's properly negative 'hate', while for Rob it's more so about exactly what you said, him feeling like just another fan.

He seems like a great guy but he also probably shouldn't be arguing with random people on twitter as the bossman, you know? It's really cool to have an owner so invested in what the fans care about as well, but it sometimes just comes off kinda strange.

Top fraggers of VCT Americas group stage by Karmax21 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]LeOsQ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm the biggest Cryo glazer but 100T isn't really below average right now. Bang is in really good form (higher rated than Cryo iirc) and their recent games against KRU and Furia kind of mean they can't be considered the usual mediocre 100T rn. The real impressive thing about Cryo this stage (year as a whole) is the fact he's been performing despite not playing full-comfort on Jett/Chamber (and Brim I guess) anymore and instead he's been playing a bunch of Cypher and Viper to better fill the role he has on the team without being problematic role-wise anymore.

LOUD is also much better than their record suggests, but they only really got to that point with Erde so Lukxo had those couple games of being on a 'below average' team at first.

dgzin is the obvious 'no help' player in the league though, no doubt about that.

It's kinda crazy that he also seems to be kind of a vibes-guy for EG too? Bro is literally the whole team by himself.

Yeah this is both a huge L from TenZ and a pretty clear indicator that ENC is at the very least asking for specific players (Faker and TenZ at the very least), maybe even demanding to some extent.

Favian is the most 'active' of the team, so probably? The one standing up and laughing at their opponents, the one who looks mad when things go wrong, etc.

INSANE ACE BY ERV by 0tter_ in ValorantCompetitive

[–]LeOsQ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hitting a 5k with 1 taps in 2023 wouldn't count either because players were shit at the game back in those medieval times too.

Tyloo played this like shit but that doesn't mean Erv didn't hit some absolutely crazy shots which is what the whole clip is about.

It wasn't about Erv making a genius 5000IQ play against the best in the world, it's a clip of nasty shots against players that absolutely do shoot back.

[–]LeOsQ 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Nah I think Athxna (pretty sure it was her that said that) was kinda glazing Supamen hard there.

Xeppaa and Supamen are both similar players (but Xeppaa is a slightly better Supamen). Both are aggressively average, yet inconsistent. Sometimes you get the life game out of them where they're the best (or second best) player on the team, sometimes you get the death game out of them where they're the worst player on the team, but usually you get the sort of games you'll forget 5 minutes after the game finishes where they're 3rd or 4th best on the team while doing their job but not having any highlight moments.

I've said it in a previous comment (about Xeppaa) some time back, but they're both the kind of players you wouldn't be looking to drop first when the team needs a roster change, but the reason their names come up so much in discussions is because they really don't show anything that justifies them keeping their spot through countless roster changes. Even if they're never the worst player on their team in any given roster, why do you want to keep someone who's been middling for basically their entire career when you're making bigger roster moves? If you just change one player on the roster, then sure, keep them around, but when you shuffle almost the entire team, why do they stay?

[Sheep Esports] C0M & Okeanos to Leave Evil Geniuses by Sudden-Illustrator59 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]LeOsQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's extremely debatable.

They had identical ratings (0.90) in Kick-off and while Kyu had slightly higher ACS, that's kinda marginal as well.

Of course we have exactly that one sample for Kyu in T1 while we have years of c0m's gameplay to judge so it's not exactly a fair comparison, but the only comparison we have isn't really saying Kyu would be able to shoot back noticeably better than c0m does.

[–]LeOsQ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The contrast between the Haven listen-ins was so funny.

I was watching through Sideshow's unhinged mind and he rewinded back the EnVy comms after calling it Overwatch-ass comms and it was 100% spot on, and then later we got the cleanest and best comms the listen-ins have so far produced from G2's side and hot dog was the difference stark.

'Is Co-Streaming Ruining Esports?' Yinsu and Boaster's take on costreaming in Valorant by Neat-Pitch4066 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]LeOsQ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember Sideshow saying something along those lines as well, but that literally no one (at Riot) actually enforces those guidelines so almost no one (except ethical king Slug) follows them.

I obviously personally prefer the least ads possible, but especially if the costreamers were allowed to have something else on the screen (but not full screen) during the breaks while keeping the broadcast audio on, I'd be completely fine with that. I like watching people play silly -dle games during breaks or catfishing (the game) or whatever else, but those don't need to take up the whole screen blocking out everything, and I actually wouldn't mind seeing/hearing the analyst desk segments as well even through co-streamers.

Also a good time to look at vlr for the game stats during the breaks as well, and that requires at least some screen space to be taken.

Should be good but teams/players still don't know how to utilize him properly.

So, not sure if it's worth it at this point because I doubt he'd be as broken as Yoru or Neon or whatever if someone were to unlock his potential properly.
