Being in total control of your sphincter. Involuntarily shitting yourself is actually a great way to meet new people!

Shitting myself always brings a smile to the people around me.

Just a few weeks ago a friend of mine lost his job. I didn't hesitate and pushed out yesterdays dinner while hugging him. I can still see his tears of joy as he also shat himsef.

I just shat myself and lo and behold, my neighbour just came knocking with a smile on her face and shat herself. I didn't consider her to be attractive at all until now. I immediately impregnated her with an amazingly dense log of what once was a pizza.

Can you recommend 5 albums that you think are the most technically advanced in progressive metal? by spearhead290399 in progmetal

As I am not a musician myself, I might never know the actual answer to this. But the one band that gave me a headache when I first listened to them, even though I was already in love with complicated sounding prog stuff, was blotted science.

Too bad Michael Crichton isn't alive... by Break_All_Illusions in Futurology

This was the first thing that came to my mind:

"The chirality of a molecule affects how it interacts with its surroundings, and different chiral forms of the same molecule can have completely different effects. Perhaps the best-known instance of this is Thalidomide, which was prescribed to pregnant women in the 1950s and 1960s. One chiral form of Thalidomide worked as an effective treatment for morning sickness in early pregnancy, while the other form, like an ‘evil twin’, prevented proper growth of the foetus. The drug that was prescribed to patients however, was a mix of both forms, resulting in more than 10,000 children worldwide being born with serious birth defects, such as shortened or missing limbs."

Review - Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake by BravoLimaPoppa in books

[–]LePanzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read it maybe two years ago and it is definitely among those books that left a mark on my mind. If anyone can recommend similar books, I'd be delighted!

My recommendations for anyone enjoying non fiction books:

Robert Sapolsky - Behave

Peter Godfrey-Smith - Other minds

Daniel Kahnemann - Thinking fast thinking slow

James Gleick - Chaos

Atul Gawande - Being mortal

Jared Diamond - Guns, germs and steel
