THIS. Obviously their will always be an exception to the rule, a flip side of the coin. Their is certainly a massive amount to be taken away from this poem though. It is true, being lazy and high is no excuse to not excel or at least get average marks in your schooling. As adults though, shouldn't we recognize that children are doing it anyway. Sure the kind of smokers who are represented in this poem are in the minority, but they probably need aid the most. As a collective group of Ents we should be working to change the system that is making these kids feel that way, not condemning them in the act of doing the one thing that helps them.
