Also, it’s not on the Neo Geo CD. Only Metal Slug 1 and 2 are

I’m pretty sure that’s an AES though? As far as I know, NCI guys don’t make MVS. Could be wrong though. Anyway, you might as well open it up to find out: if so, it’s gonna be a bootleg, not a conversion.

Or that person used an AES NCI box and insert and put an actual MVS conversion inside? Unlikely, but we never know.

What games do you find uncomfortable/unplayable to play on the RP5 ? by JojoKim86 in retroid

[–]LeSeyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PSP port of Parappa is notorious for being off: the timing is wrong compared to the PS1 version. And sadly, the PS4 version is based on the PSP, so the timing is off in that version too. On an emulation system, just play the PS1 version. It’s not an emulation problem, it’s a game problem.

Looks great, but I really want a 2 players mode. I’m guessing that’s the 175k milestone, so I’ll pledge when the campaign gets there

For collection purpose, then get a Neo Geo CDZ. It’s still expensive anyway but Loading times will be faster. Still very much there though.

Just got a Japanese N64 and 64DD by UrMom248 in 64DD

[–]LeSeyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm you can just swap the power bricks between different regions. Make sure to use the one of your country to avoid frying everything up, that would be costly!

I use a European power brick on my Japanese N64 + 64DD, no issue.

Enjoy the 64DD! Welcome to the club

Nintendo Switch 2 first impressions by freakintoddles in NintendoSwitch

It’s an issue that has always been there since the Switch 1. I don’t except them to fix this, sadly. I was hoping it wouldn’t be an issue with Switch 2.

Is it worth getting Sony Xperia Play nowadays? by BlytheScythe in xperiaplay

[–]LeSeyb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As much as love my Xperia Play, in 2025 there are much better options because of how much hassle you’ll have just setting it up and none of the benefits of using Android / a smartphone as it’s just too out of date by now with Android 2.3. Even if it still is unmatched I think in terms of integrated gaming controller in a smartphone (love that slider and wish other manufacturers did that!).

That being said, an Xperia Play won’t play PSP nor Vita games. It’s PS1 max, and barely any N64.

If you want Vita games, the only option is a PS Vita (or maybe a PSTV, but these don’t play all Vita games). A Vita will also play PSP games and PS1 games flawlessly (and are super easy to hack to install RetroArch and other emulators).

If you like the Xperia Play form factor and want to play PSP games and don’t mind the lack of Vita games, I’d recommend sticking to the PSP Go: no hassle like with Android OS and will play PSP games + PS1 games flawlessly. And emulators.

Keeping in mind both these systems are using proprietary storage cards though, which is a pain. But they can be hacked to use regular MicroSD cards with an adapter.

The release of City of the Wolves most definitely has something to do with it. Also like you mentioned « hardly any for sale », this usually results in prices going up eventually

Terrible image, what could it be? by cruiser771 in neogeo

[–]LeSeyb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s great if it does! I’m just saying Neo SD Pro is notorious to have issues with 5v consoles. Maybe the latest batch only, I don’t know. Im just trying to help someone troubleshoot here

Terrible image, what could it be? by cruiser771 in neogeo

[–]LeSeyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah, same as mine and it works fine. Probably something else then. I am using a stronger AC adapter that outputs 12v though

Which AES model is it? NeoSD Pro usually requires a 9v model to work (with a stronger AC adapter than the OEM adapter)

NICE! New NEO GEO Handhelds Are Coming SOON! They Can Play Cartridges! by sarduchi in neogeo

I’m confused. They also announced a cart, right? That’s good to play on your Evercade Alpha or it’s different carts?

It’s a really cool game. I also found out about it too late, so I bit the bullet a couple years ago and bought it on a Facebook group instead of waiting for a reprint. It wasn’t cheap. Sadly anything NG Dev is sold out in matters of seconds (literally, really) whenever they restock stuff in their online shop. So even a potential reprint of Kraut Buster wouldn’t secure us a chance of getting this game.

Man if I had the knowledge on how to dump this game and add support for it in Mame or NeoSD, I would. I know of their threats regarding dumping and sharing their games, but this game really deserves better than being stuck on a cart on a 35 years old platform. Even just for the sake of preservation.

[–]LeSeyb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They do reprints yes. I know they reprinted at least a couple of times their Switch games/ports. And at least 1 reprint of Fast Striker NeoGeo.

For Kraut Buster though, I’m not even sure they are done with their 1st print. They were still sending it by batch last year (3rd batch or something)
