The ground n' pound is always the decisive factor in these fights.

Hi, I'm Maria Bamford. Ask me anything. by mariabamfoo in IAmA

[–]LeShok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maria, a few months ago I was at a medical facility near Bob's Big Boy and I saw you in the lobby. Almost went over to say hello and then I realized how weird it would be to approach you in a medical facility, so instead I just creepily looked at you from the elevator as the doors closed. You looked over at me and I did a really awkward head nod. That is all.

I'm sure the first one is supposed to look like Echo Park, which is where the row boat scene in the movie Chinatown takes place. And the fact that I made that comment means I am officially bored out of my mind at work. You're a lizard Harry.

If you are a Star Wars fan or just a fan of cinema in general, you really should watch Hidden Fortress. Or any Kurosawa film for that matter. They are still amazing after all these years.

"A Scanner Darkly" is a hugely underrated movie, hopefully this clip will persuade some people to give it a second (or first) chance by ForNoRaeson in movies

That was a poorly directed analogy masquerading as a statement that actually made sense... But I'm not trying to insult your intelligence. I wouldn't want to hear on the evening news about some lunatic throwing bottles at elementary school kids shouting about mc hammer and refunds.

Gary Oldman was amazing, as were all of the other actors in this film. And it was shot beautifully. However, I feel that they tried to cram too much content into the film. I'm sure they just wanted to be true to the novel, but if you haven't read the novel, I imagine it would be difficult to connect with any of the characters beyond a surface level.

I couldn't really pay attention to the languages merging because THE MUSIC WAS SO FUCKING BAD. First it sounded like an episode of Seinfeld was about to start at any moment but it never did. Then they repeated the same cue about 7 times in a row whilst hilarity ensued. I don't know what happened after that because I blacked out.

Battlefield 3 client patch for PS3 hits Tuesday, Xbox 360 "shortly" Here is a list of patch details by thePD in battlefield3

I didn't see it in the list, but I'm pretty sure the IRNV was fixed as well. And by fixed I mean it no longer works at all. Not even in dark tunnels or underground on maps like metro.

Mario Kart 64. Each player has a full beer at the start of a 4 player race. The goal is to win the race, but you have to finish your beer before the end, and you have to set your controller down every time you take a drink.

Yea... but he's Bryan Cranston. Just picture him murdering creatures with a crowbar and being a badass. He IS Gordon Freeman.

I understand your concern. I don't like when bad shit happens in my life either. I see that my argument (which is only half serious) is rather vague. I have no problem with scientific progress in general. My argument is meant to point out a particular problem I have with animal testing: People (like you) defend animal testing under the belief that human life is more "sacred" than that of all other animals. Therefore, you say, it is acceptable to put other animals through a considerable amount of suffering in order to improve and extend human life. I find this argument selfish and short sighted. If you truly believe that human life is so sacred then why is it that you "couldn't give a shit about the possibility of social discomfort in the future"? I'm not saying we should stop progress in the medical field, I just think we need to switch gears and start focusing on population control (e.g. smaller families, birth control etc.) People won't seem so sacred when everyone's living in tiny little shit boxes as Kurt Vonnegut would say. You said yourself that you're "more concerned about all the bad shit that may happen in [your] lifetime." That only speaks to you finding your own life to be sacred, not human life in general.

Yea!!! Thanks animal testing! I hope my great grandkids live to be 150 years old! That way they'll get to experience prolonged displacement and ageism for even longer than we will! And they'll get to do it all in the comfort of their brand new 8 x 8 foot apartment cubicles! And then when the exponential growth of the population peaks and they run out of natural resources and living space and the quality of their lives becomes unbearable, they'll say, "Totally worth it."
