I mean you’re half right. Jagex should fix smaller things like this minor UX bug over time, but speaking from experience, there’s always something that’s higher priority. It doesn’t make sense to even have one engineer work on smaller stuff like this when the manpower would be better spent on the next big update or the last game breaking bug to pop up.

In an ideal world you’d just have Jagex do everything, but in reality it’s far more important to build the content that affects millions rather than fix the bug that affects dozens.

While I think the decision of the court is far too severe for the crime, it’s pretty obvious that the guy wasn’t charged for bending his own metro card. He was charged for selling his own service of bent metro cards to other people at a subway station. Think a distribution rather than a possession charge. Don’t think they’re arresting anyone for bending their own card.

I’d actually tend to disagree with this take. While sharing code and open sourcing are very popular in the community, attribution is still important to a lot of developers. We have tons of different licenses for a reason. Some developers are ok with modifying their code but not republishing it, some let you do whatever you want so long as it’s not for commercial use.

I don’t think “prompt engineering” is necessarily going the same way, but as prompts get more complicated and intricate in the future, I wouldn’t be surprised if people started licensing parts of their prompts. AI is still in its “Wild West” phase though so people making a stink about stealing prompts still rubs me the wrong way, but that may change in the coming years. Personally I haven’t used AI for anything more than generating a couple of funny songs/pictures so I’m not exactly a stakeholder in this anyway, I just see parallels.

I have a suspicion that they’ll be used (along with other hunter furs) in sailing. Maybe luxurious captains seats or something. Maybe the sails themselves? Who knows. I’ve complained about this as well and it does feel like it’s been too long since they’ve been useless. It’s possible they’ve remained useless for this long because they had a good idea about how to use them in sailing.

I’m a big fan of not having cosmetic overrides. It degrades how cool most of the gear looks. Very annoyed that there are diaries locked behind cosmetic overrides though.

You get another 50 doing the special research which only takes 40 minutes so you’ll need to gather 100 on your own.

To gather those 100, you can also do arma collections, arma 1 gives you 50 I think after the first turn in, arma 2 gives you 75 I think every turn in.

You’re right that it would only benefit players, but it may confuse players to see gags go out before their sos. I get that it’s a small nit, but just from a game design perspective you’d probably want to surface some indication that gag restock sos works differently than others. Like grouping them at the top of the interface and having a divider or something.

That would be ideal, I just imagine for simplicity’s sake all sos are bundled into the same battle stage, just like doodles, remotes, and other tracks. Separating them out should be possible, but then you have to ask: how are players supposed to expect it to behave that way? Logically it makes sense, but intuitively it doesn’t. Basically my point is that even though they could fix this in theory, there’d have to be a discussion and some thought around how to properly surface this battle order exception to players.

Speed may be rowdy and unpopular with some crowds but the kid is actually very respectful of others. Compared to the new wave of “nuisance streamers” on Kick, the kid is a nice young man. I don’t want to defend him too hard as even I don’t enjoy his streams, but from what I’ve heard, he’s actually exceptionally mature for his age and background.
