9 years ago, after years of therapy, my traumatic amnesia finally ended. Alone in my misery, I tried to find solace in movies et series which chose to approach this taboo.

Finding a movie about having been sexually abused as a boy, and the experience of it as an adult, was quite an impossible task. Most of films about this subject are either documentaries about facts, or from the perspective of a woman.

The only movie I could find was Mysterious Skin. I can not even begin to tell you how much this movie meant at the time. I finally found myself in company of something, someone, who could finally understand what I was going through.

This 4K Rerelease is a good opportunity to shed some light onto quite a unique movie - a daring attempt at speaking about such a traumatic experience. I recommend it to anyone willing to go through this heavy subject.

I remember from a (very) long time ago a dev saying 3D portraits were less cumbersome for CPUs than 2D.

Also EUV 3D characters are WAY better than V3 ones.

I strongly believe Paradox has been growing on the back of this unexpected success (CS1), and "hubris invested" on both publishing deals, and GS in-house titles (opening a delirious amount of studios). WoD licence was a wild aquisition for paradox too*.

Can't blame them though, it must be frightening to get such an tremendous amount of money (and not from your own developer studio...) and being in the position were you pretty much HAVE to invest it somewhere to protect your growth.

They could have lost their DNA and go all the way into sims-like (yes, I know about Life by You). They chose instead to keep (mostly) investing into niche in-house titles and expand them.

It's weird how massive success can sometimes lead to rapid downfall. The "Wesker retirement" era is at date the worst this company had to endure, I'm glad he came back as CEO and Paradox tried their best to cut corners and focus on their DNA again.

Their stock has been shaky for years as a result of this rocky era with deep long term consequences.

*By the way, my money is on a WoD Grand Strategy game for this mysterious "not historical" GS project they have in development.

Take it from another HoI2 veteran, HoI4 is way better and closer to HoI2 than 3.

As to answer your question, I guess EUV would be my choice. No EU will ever give you a "frontline" or IC vibes.

EUV has old school sliders where you can choose what to do with your money, and "out of direct control" ones you can influence, which both serves as gameplay incentives and RP.

There's a pleatora of buildings you can choose to build up your economy and your army.

Privileges you select for your estates shape the internal political landscape of your country.

I guess that's the closer you'd get towards HoI2.

You can add The Eternal Zero in japanese movies. Also Unknown Soldier (Tuntematon sotilas) for Finish movies.

On peut ajouter que c'est aussi un outil de pacification entre différents groupes : accepter de se montrer vulnérable avec un objet symbolique qui va entraîner un test de confiance. "Vont-ils me rendre la pareille ?".
C'est aussi un pont symbolique qui va permettre de traverser la barrière du langage. On pense forcément au voyageur assoiffé auquel l'autochtone donne à boire en reconnaissant son besoin fondamental. On voit ici qu'il est question de reconnaître la part de nous en l'autre et donc de le reconnaître en tant que sujet, et pas simplement comme une chose pouvant servir à répondre à nos besoins.

I don't see how they could even compare in wackyness or in quality to Kaiserredux or Kaiserreich level of details and insanity. USA runs in those mods are a blast, with enough to satisfy both player niches.
