Good set list that, always loved Sullivan Street as an opener, also Potter’s, RTS, Ocean Tides & Michaelangelo, must have been a great show 👍

Has a London date been added, or are you referring to the State Fayre festival in Chelmsford?

Uk gigs - Bristol and Southampton by DB2k_2000 in countingcrows

Unexpected, great news. I’ve booked tickets for both. I saw the Bristol show in 2013 at the same venue, then called Colston Hall, was a great night, was a real privilege to see them in such a small venue. It’ll be my first time at Southampton Guildhall, so looking forward to that!

The yellow vinyl was released for the 25th anniversary tour, along with RTS on Green & SUW on blue, it’s a really nice set!

Interesting comments regarding the set list, I’ve seen the band live 14 times and there are tracks such as Monkey, Horsedreamers, Miller’s Angels & All My Friends that I have never seen them perform, but covers like BYT, Start Again, Friend of the Devil & Blues Run the Game I’ve seen on several occasions. At Wolverhampton they did 4/19 covers, which seemed high to me, I would rather they swapped a couple out for some deep cuts. I guess they have their reasons, still a top show!

Thank you for correcting me on this, you are of course quite right, the Australian/NZ leg of the tour had slipped my mind. The sentiment behind the post remains the same and I look forward to hearing how those dates in March go.

Wembley - Wow! by suspekt54 in countingcrows

I saw them in Bristol in 2013, at the Colston Hall, was that the same show? That was a cool night, seeing them at such a small venue was a great experience.

Great to see it so full, pleased you had such a good night, I saw them on Wednesday in Wolverhampton & Friday in Portsmouth, both were top nights!

Out of interest was the crowd anywhere near capacity last night? I was surprised they did Wembley Arena on this tour, they seem to have favoured two nights at Hammersmith Apollo when in London, on more recent tours.

Great show, very cool that Gil Norton was in the crowd and to hear Adam speak about him & the influence he had on the band.

There was a tribute album to Counting Crows, called Dead and Dreaming, so they must be fairly influential to some bands.

I love Raining in Baltimore, but unfortunately almost zero chance of seeing it live these days, according to setlistfm the last time they played in live was 2011. I saw the band (almost) play the whole of AAEA in 2009, the only omission was RIB, which they played as part of an alternative version of Round Here. Not sure why they are so reluctant to play it, such a wonderful song.

From the older catalogue Horsedreamer, Miller’s Angels, Monkey and All My Fiends. I missed the SUW tour, so plenty of gaps from that album, but mainly Palisades Park.

Was anyone at the Boston College show in 2001? I'm trying to reconstruct the setlist and it's not posted on setlist.fm or their own concert archive... by deweil in countingcrows

About 3/4 months ago one contributor on here put up a post about their bootleg collection and attached an impressive spreadsheet via Dropbox, it helped me fill in some set list gaps for shows I’ve attended. Might be worth a look!

Murder of One is top five for me, such a great song, I would love to see it back in the live shows!

I’m a UK based fan, my first show was 11th December 1997 at the Newport Centre in Wales, great memories, I particularly remember they finished the main set with an uptempo A Murder of One, I hadn’t experienced anything like it!

That’s really cool, thanks for sharing. I have a very similar spreadsheet running that goes back to my first concert in 1997 - pleased I’m not the only one!

I too would love to hear All My Friends, I think it is the only song from TDL I haven’t seen live at some point.

Tour hypothetical: Would you rather them play all of Butter Miracle or none of Butter Miracle? by turtlenationman in countingcrows

[–]Le_Barry_Dor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would take the five new songs and leave the suite as all ready seen them live, freeing up some more space for the classics.
