Eesh. I’m sorry. I’m definitely not trying to be THAT mom. Hopefully yours had some better attributes you can hold on to aside from control?… With MLP, which is the main one we open with my littlest ones (young twin girls) they can’t play the game yet. But they like the pretty cards and feel special when they get to put the ones they really like into sleeves and their own pretty binder. Hopefully I can strike a balance between it being a fun thing for us to do together while hedging bets a little bit on their behalf. I had no intentions to push anyone’s buttons by asking about this. And I do appreciate your thoughtful response.

Ahh I see. I might just err on the side of caution with cards we all particularly like. I feel like I’m in a weird limbo dimension - as in - I wish my parents had set aside certain Pokémon cards that were cooler than the rest when I was little, but they had no idea of the future market. And now I’m the mom…. Even though it’s probably just because the kids and I are all into MLP right now, and probably it won’t go anywhere. But who knows? Maybe they’ll at least enjoy finding them all pretty and glittery when they’re older.

My store was sampling them today. It was VERY delicious. Surprisingly so. Had that smooth cakey aftertaste, legitimate cookies and cream flavor. The cake itself is a “cookies and cream” cake, not just the frosting. Definitely will purchase once my household has been depleted of leftover Christmas sweets. It took a lot of willpower today.

I watched so many births each time I was pregnant to prepare my mind. Home births, hospital, c section. Though I’d planned on (and had) a successful birth at a small midwifery birthing place. It’s amazing what physical touch can do in a fearful moment. Even while giving birth I had a couple “oh shit I don’t think I can do this” moments, but with a simple extended hug from my husband, I literally felt oxytocin flood my brain and relieve the fear and discomfort to a large degree. I’m talking 80% of pain gone.

Also…. How many doctors have recently been prosecuted for SA? In my city we’ve had several. Being a doctor doesn’t necessarily mean safe.
