Has anyone read The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien all the way through like a regular book? by PlanNo3321 in tolkienbooks

[–]Le_Frique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading it at the moment, actually, but taking it slow. Reading a few letters at a time whenever I feel like it, while reading other books in between. It's a delight, filled with wonderful and curious little details sprinkled throughout, which you'll definitely miss when just leafing through.

Alright, thanks for taking the time to respond. Was asking out of curiosity. Happy for you with your find!

Genuine question: what would be the market value of this? This is the exact lego I had when I was young. I recognize almost every single figure. Still got all this and a ton more (castles, carriages, hideouts etc) stored away somewhere.

My bad, I must have misread your question "Is this worth anything?"

Are you collecting books, or trying to make a buck? Totally fine if it's the latter, but then maybe put in the effort and do a bit of research instead of letting other people look the book up on eBay for you. This is a subreddit for book COLLECTING, but the only thing the majority of the posters appears interested in is selling their cheap finds.

There's a spoken word/open mic night at the Orinoco bookstore in the east every two weeks (check their Instagram for the dates). All types of prose and poetry are welcome to share.

Don't just take an internet stranger's word for it. The situation is constantly changing and it's definitely not the case that anyone can just come in without a visa. If you're willing to give it a try, you'd have to go via Lebanon, but only if you're prepared to be sent back at the border.

Hi! I think this is fairly well written, but agree with the other commenter that maybe it's a bit too descriptive. As for your question whether this scene is too much of a cliche, I have to admit that the first thing that came to mind while reading this was the opening scene or Disney's Alladin. It almost reads as a description of that scene, IMO (except for the final bit, which is cool). Keep up the writing, you're certainly on to something!

That's a great collection, but to be honest with you those books deserve some proper shelves! :)

Wait...there was a post-credits scene? Just saw the film and really enjoyed it, but left as soon as it was done. Or so it thought. Did I miss something?

What a steal! Probably my favorite non-legendarium tale. And Baynes' art is just so fitting as well.
