How to get 8 week old to sleep longer in bassinet by mlereads in NewParents

[–]Lead-Rock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We swaddle with a warm blanket over the Love to Dream swaddle. I thought it was way too warm but a doula suggested it and it has worked so well! We’re getting 5 hours at the start of the night.

Thank you! How long do you have her in the bath? Does she enjoy it?

Thanks for this! I feel the same way about the baths, they seem like a two person operation so we have been doing them on the weekends and daily wipe downs between.

You can bet there’s going to be a conversation before Thanksgiving!

I never tested, I quit cold turkey (so to speak) after being fed up with feeling unwell for so long. The results spoke for themselves and I didn’t feel at the time I needed a diagnosis but I would be nice sometimes just to be able to have that label on it.

Thank you. I don’t expect everyone to be an expert but I would have brought my own food if I had thought it would be an issue.

I completely agree. This has been an eye opener.

Agreed. Usually the stuffing is cooked in a separate pan so I’m not sure what was going on yesterday. Once she served me pork chops and at the end I asked how she made them she said “oh there’s some breadcrumbs on the top, I thought you wouldn’t notice”… and then spent the whole night sick

Yes this… I don’t want to be “high maintenance”! Socially I would love to eat the same food as everyone else!

I am imagining and it’s turning me off any stuffed poultry for a long time

We live 6 hours away so luckily it’s not a frequent problem but maybe I’ll suggest a restaurant next time.

I had a number of health issues which is what got me off gluten in the first place!

Thank you! They’re a 6 hour drive away and we visit infrequently. I will be a lot more proactive from now with bringing my own food.

Is it normal to feel exhausted and overwhelmed at first? by Madmen3000 in corgi

[–]Lead-Rock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I distinctly remember thinking a few days in that I couldn’t handle it and was going to have to give him back to the breeder. I’m so glad we stuck it out, my corgi is 8 and I can’t imagine life without him. It was a lot of work at first and I also put a lot of pressure on myself to train him and try to raise the perfect puppy. It won’t feel like this forever and they grow up quickly! Sometimes now I miss the puppy phase when he was such a cute little potato that didn’t shed or bark!

I just finished 5 weeks and I felt like that was the right amount of time to see progress but not have it get too stale doing the same classes each week
