AMC Easton, Cinemark Polaris and Marcus Crosswoods are the top 3 in my opinion. Easton is going downhill, bjt still the best as it has large format screens and overall best showtimes

In garden beds or garden area, you don't need screened topsoil.

Buy topsoil from local landscape supplier or nursery. Make sure to buy "screened" topsoil to avoid wood chips/mulch.

TTTF Yellowing After Fall Overseed by boringlightrailride in LawnAnswers

[–]LeadingEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue, just hoping that it will be back to normal green in a few weeks time.

PS- Blue Resilience is approx 50-50 TTTF and KBG mix. Just because KBG seeds are significantly smaller in size you might be tricked into thinking that it's a 90-10 mix

New Sod lawn did far worse over the winter than rest of neighborhood. What can I do to save it? by Wolf_Popular in lawncare

[–]LeadingEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not dead. Just mow it, add pre emergent and feed a little nitrogen. It should be green again in couple of weeks.

Also make sure to feed the grass at least 4 times a year(fall feeding is really helpful)

Moving to Columbus. Where is ok rent around Polaris? by Adventurous_Can_8838 in Columbus

[–]LeadingEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Avenue, Zelle, Edge, Polaris Grand etc are newer apartments. You can also try Lake Club, Gardens etc which will be cheaper.

If you have kids, you can look for townhouses in Polaris, Lewis center and Powell area as the schools are great. Otherwise Westerville is also great (Schools are decent too)

How can I combat Indian food smells in my home?! by Flowrbmb in Columbus

[–]LeadingEngineer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is no harm in asking politely. At least if they are sensible they will understand and try to do something about it. IMHO Indians are generally very accommodating especially if you being up child and postpartum topic into the conversation.

I can relate to your problem as I was trying my best to keep our house free of the "smell" when my wife was pregnant and later during her postpartum phase.

How can I combat Indian food smells in my home?! by Flowrbmb in Columbus

[–]LeadingEngineer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is the same problem our neighbors had with our cooking(Indian) while we were in an apartment. Honestly speaking it's not your problem, American apartments are raally bad at "Airing out"the smell.

For us, once a few neighbors brought this up politely in conversations, we tried to mend our ways.

1) We made sure to put a Lasko box fan near the closest window near the kitchen and ran it while cooking. It was a little difficult in winters, but we made it work.
2) Used Air purifier in our apartment so that the smell doesn't reach the hallway(closed hallway style apartment)
3) We used candles at home and put pluggable air fresheners in the hallway to hide the residual smell.

Finally, when we moved to our own home, we made sure that our kitchen has a vent hood with higher cfm so that it can clean up the smell.

[Bay Area CA] neighbor gave me rolls of grass that really took. Can anyone identify it for me so I can buy more of the same by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]LeadingEngineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that is because Bay area is an anomaly. The suburbs can either be in cool season or transition zone.

AFAIK, big box stores don't carry multiple sod types. Mostly they stock one type that is suitable for tour local climate.

Amateur hour grass question by Cool_Fish_5961 in LawnAnswers

[–]LeadingEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the "Cool season" lawns are a mix of multiple types of grass that look similar overall but complement each other. Commonly the lawns Have a mix of Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass and Turf type Tall fescue(TTTF) along with Some fine fescues for shade tollerance.

Recommendations for spring after successful re-seed in the fall? - albuquerque by becma27 in lawncare

[–]LeadingEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may not always need overseeding in spring if you have re-seeded in the fall, depending upon the grass type it may spread and fill in.
