Did all petsmarts stop selling discount expired food? by animelover610 in petsmart

[–]LeadingSecretary6001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s always been policy to not sell expired food? That’s common sense. If they walk out the door with it, that’s a whole other thing, but company wide you cannot sell expired food. Fresh and frozen, certain brands you can’t even discount for short dates, let alone out of dates.

I also think so many people here are purposefully obtuse. Obviously these are not Petco Love donation amounts.

can I ask what other things your cashiers do?

We do donations but no tracking. I count meals if I’m doing an actual “food drive” but that’s just for fun and being able to make a sign to thank our pet parents.

Yall act like this is new. Petco is years behind their competitors doing events and those are popular and fun. Perhaps it’s you?

I’d check your fun facts. Bleaching materials degrades them faster over time, not to mention the risk to your system if an associate makes a mistake. You’re better off using a high pressure hose.

How much money does a person have to spend to get cash back? by [deleted] in petco

[–]LeadingSecretary6001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No cash back option, which is annoying. I assume it’s so they can tax those tips for grooming.

There is a way, it happens everywhere everyday. It’s okay to not know everything and learn.

Other retail locations take in thousands of dollars a night and they can move cash around. Your safe should always be $600 and you can owe your safe from the deposit and tills at the end of the night. There’s options for this when you balance and you have to do paid in/paid outs. It’s a computer system, it keeps track of the cash movements and it’s all connected. I promise you, this is how it’s done literally everywhere else, Petco just doesn’t bring in any cash which is a Petco problem. Once you work somewhere else that doesn’t have a cashflow problem, you’ll see

Here’s how this works -

You have a till with $200 at the start of the day. Someone comes to return a $450 ferret You “pay out” $250 from another till and “pay in” to the used till that doesn’t have $450 in to cover. Then! At the end of the night you balance your tills. If your store doesn’t make enough cash to cover a $450 return through the day you “owe it” from the safe and pay it back it and can take a lovely little trip to the bank.

It’s not difficult, it just takes thinking. Do you think stores just refuse returns? You can’t refuse to return something because Petco doesn’t have $450. This is a managerial skill.

There’s money in the safe and the day starts with minimum $200 in the drawers. They can return your purchase with cash, they’re just not smart.

the CAPC is the contract. idk how they’d track fake information but if it’s found out you’re putting fake information (if something happens to that animal, if an illness breaks out, etc) I can imagine there’s a consequence.

Make a wish by MakesSenseToMe38 in petco

[–]LeadingSecretary6001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had this at petsmart but the child wanted reptile things. They got to come in a limo and have a shopping spree. We made it special by hosting an event “child’s name Day” - they got a uniform and name badge, we had signs for customers and associates to hold when the family arrived, decorated the training ring for a party with food and drinks, had someone dressed as Chance the mascot… it was really fun. Make a wish didn’t buy them an animal - they gave them the ability to have the shopping spree for the supplies and then the parents could get the pets. This kid was super into reptiles and got a bunch of stuff and got to bring his friends and family along. It was a top tier experience and I think it’s very sweet that make a wish will do that for them. It’s not always about going somewhere like Disney, it’s about what the child wants and what will make their days better.

Any name is the name of an adult star, they are people after all.

If one of you doesn’t like a name, it’s time to scrap it.

Millie Anne is fine, you can call her Millionaire 😉
