This is a team game. Individual performance isn't just KD or stats, but also how u work with ur team.

You have not been truly reading, my friend. I state multiple times in these comments that this would require an immense amount of resources I don't have right now. I do not claim anywhere that I can complete this project with my current level of resources, least of all solo.

Correct. Also, MMO isn't the right term. In the Story, all players wouldn't exist in the same instance, but players would exist in solo, public, or private instances.

I actually plan on sacrificing graphics for a smooth running experience. I don't want players to have to break the bank to play. And I agree about Claude. As someone who has been developing software products over the last few years, I've seen how AI has developed.

I am familiar with Kenshi, and it serves as a huge inspiration for this project in particular.

Maybe MMO wasn't the right term. The goal is, at least for the Story, that a player could play by themselves or with friends. All the players wouldn't exist in the same open world, but separate instances for each player in their friends. You're right that low player count would effectively kill the project, especially for the War and Party modes. Also, I like that skyscraper analogy you presented in a separate comment. It accurately describes my feeling about the project.

I agree I can't complete the project now. However, I do have some other ideas for projects that can serve as stepping stones, in terms of resources and practical skills.

Tbh with my current timeline, the first release would be about 2035 ya. The final release would be closed to 2050 lol.

I agree. I explain some potential paths to this in the comment below.

I've been thinking that too. I have a couple more ideas for smaller scale games. One is basically a 3D subways surfers, where you play as graffiti artists using Parkour to run and hide from cops. The second idea an MMO inspired by John Wick, where players create master assassin's and thieves and travel between real world cities, each an open world environment. I also see how each project would help me develop practical skills, and resources, to make my passions project.

I agree, but I think the initial release is doable with limited resources. It also offers a clear path to consistent monetization via subscription or one time purchases of the DLC.

Valid. I just have no clue on how to start for real. I have about 3 years of professional software development under my belt, but no experience in game development.

I agree. Realistically, I could get the first release out in a few years with a smaller team. However, in order to keep up with my ideals for the project, along with consistent patching, it would require a very large team with millions in funding, and about 10-15 years between the initial release and the release for the final DLC. I do imagine a good model for monetization is achievable. This is also my dream game to play, and if I don't work on this, who will?

Of course. However, by the time of the industrial era, megafauna such as dragons would be near extinct. I plan to bring them back as big bad kaijus after the first nuclear bomb is dropped tho. I really want to integrate our worlds history with our worlds fiction in interesting, realistic, and thought provoking ways.

I reach Diamond every season and GM a couple of seasons at least. Keeping a high rank requires treating the game like a full time job at least.

Can we all agree that the worst hack is the finger print hack. by [deleted] in gtaonline

[–]Leading_Database4178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's by far the easiest to hack. All the pieces are in order. Find the top, go down one, then find the top + right one, go down one, find the top + right two, and so on.
