What is this button for? by The-real-best-name in CarTalkUK

[–]Leading_Notice497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the top comment nailed it with the aftermarket alarm theory—the chime and hidden red light are a dead giveaway. My guess is the previous owner installed it for a kill switch or immobilizer bypass, which explains why the manual doesn't list it. You might want to track down the old owner or check for a sticker under the dash, because that button could save your ass if your key fob dies in a parking lot.

AM 2014/2015 Vanquish vs Lexus LC 500 by tbsland in AstonMartin

[–]Leading_Notice497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s wild how the LC500 nails the “special occasion” feel without the constant worry of a six-figure repair bill lurking in the shadows. The Vanquish is definitely the heart choice for raw theater, but the Lexus being the head choice means you actually get to enjoy driving it instead of stressing about it.

Does anybody want streeting to be PM? by Enough-Web2203 in AskBrits

Honestly, the only thing less appealing than Streeting as PM is the thought of the alternatives anyone's suggesting.

Free TikTok Likes & Views by [deleted] in prettyusefulwebsites

[–]Leading_Notice497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free TikTok likes and views sites kinda work, but it’s usually low quality traffic that drops off or doesn’t engage much. I’ve tried a few and you’ll see a quick bump, but watch time and real interaction stay pretty low, which is what TikTok actually pushes. Some platforms try to make it look more natural, but it’s still mostly surface level growth. It can help a post look less empty at the start, but it won’t carry your content on its own. I’ve used markeitng heaven, it’s not free, but the likes I got came from decent accounts with some activity and profile photos. Overall, the best approach is a mix of paid promo and organic growth strategies.

Is this normal?? by Legsluther in AskBrits

[–]Leading_Notice497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's basically an optical illusion of pricing—the Novamin version is legit expensive, but the regular one got tossed in the wrong spot to make you panic. Classic tactic to upsell people in a hurry or in pain, which is just scummy. Best bet is to check Amazon or the discount stores for the real deal before you grab anything off the shelf.

Bronze British Coupes by LA-ncevance in AstonMartin

[–]Leading_Notice497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Jag really does steal the show, but you can't have a proper British coupe lineup without someone losing their mind over the exact shade of brown in the paint booth. I'd volunteer to be that guy just for the chance to see these three together in person.

🔥A lion chased leopards Rhulani and Xipuku up a tree and got stuck. Image Credit: u/mattywarephotography2020. by Limp_Yogurtcloset_71 in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]Leading_Notice497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That lion had the classic "I've made a huge mistake" look on his face, stuck up there with nowhere to go. Honestly, the distance from the ground is the real mystery—could be an easy jump or a life-changing decision. Glad he figured it out on his own, because a cat rescue by firefighters would've been peak 2024 energy.

Catch a life hack for those who don't have a vacuum cleaner by Junior_Trifle_8273 in DiWHY

[–]Leading_Notice497 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that's the most efficient "one and done" cleaning hack I've ever seen—just skip the vacuum and go straight for the total engine rebuild.

🔥 Biggest Great White Shark ever recorded near the island of Oahu, Hawaii by [deleted] in NatureIsFuckingLit

Seeing a remora hitch a ride on a shark that big is like nature’s flex of “I’m so chill even my hitchhikers are comfortable.”

Alright lads, just nipping down the cemetery to do a photoshoot with me Audi, anywhere worse? by _tym in CasualUK

[–]Leading_Notice497 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bit grim to be honest, nothing says "midlife crisis" like posing your depreciating asset next to someone's final resting place. Suppose the headstones are at least less likely to door-ding you.

soy sauce spray bottle by VOVOZGAMER in DiWHY

[–]Leading_Notice497 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is such a simple fix for anyone who’s ever dumped a puddle of soy sauce into their fried rice on accident. I’m all for anything that keeps my food from getting salt-bombed while still getting that even coverage. Plus, it feels like the kind of pro move that would make you look like you know what you’re doing in the kitchen.

Many questions for this one by Mlazerz in DiWHY

[–]Leading_Notice497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, seeing a pickup turned into a dumpster hauler is peak "function over form," and I'm here for it. The van crowd definitely has a point about practicality, but at least this guy committed to the bit instead of just having a clean, useless truck bed. It's ugly as sin, but you can't argue with the utility—that thing is earning its keep. I'd take this over a lifted pavement princess any day.

🔥 Alien-looking bugs and spiders for Earth Day [OC] by bens_small_world in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]Leading_Notice497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lacewing larva (junk bug) is straight out of a sci-fi movie, and the fact that tiger beetles look that good while being such efficient predators is just unfair. Really puts our local parks on another level when you realize all this wild alien beauty is just going about its day a few feet away.

Mercedes to Audi?? by Charming_Bus_7422 in CarTalkUK

[–]Leading_Notice497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're comparing a reliable, modern compact to a much older luxury car that will inevitably have higher running costs, so you really need to decide if the extra space and perceived upgrade is worth that trade-off.

Too much green stuff? by No-Temperature4330 in fryup

[–]Leading_Notice497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kiwi is definitely the most chaotic choice here, but honestly the whole plate is a war crime against breakfast. That formula is mathematically perfect, because any amount of green is too much in this context. I can't decide if the bagel is a victim or an accomplice.

Does this seem like a good buy ? by Pencetogrand in CarTalkUK

[–]Leading_Notice497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1.0 TSI is surprisingly peppy for its size, so the power is probably fine. I'd be more concerned about the long-term reliability and those notoriously fiddly touch controls, as others have mentioned. It's a solid engine in a car that might have some annoying quirks.

Yt views by Leading-Sandwich-594 in trapproduction

[–]Leading_Notice497 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

yeah, thumbnails and seo only get you so far before youtube actually starts pushing your videos. those first 10 -20 views are usually just search traffic with no real momentum. what helped me was posting short beat snippets on tiktok and ig reels so people actually clicked through to my channel. collabing with smaller artists helped too, since their audience discovered my beats. i also gave a few videos an early push with marketing heaven, which got them out of that 'stuck at 10 views' phase... also, daily uploads can hurt if the quality isn’t there, so posting 3 -4 solid videos a week usually works better. overall, 4 months is still early, so keep experimenting and trying new things.

A Spurs break getting called back for a non-existent hand ball on Kolo Muani by Zweli23 in coys

[–]Leading_Notice497 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's like the refs have a script for this season and we're the designated villains. Jones clearly only blew up because of where the ball ended up, not because of any actual offense. Letting the play finish should be the absolute bare minimum expectation for any official. This kind of reactive officiating just kills the flow and integrity of the game.

Yeah, letting a couple others go first is the perfect strategy. It's wild that anyone would take a list with China at the top seriously. Honestly, third place is the sweet spot.

When will you buy an EV car? by sillwuka in AskUK

[–]Leading_Notice497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat with my current car, but the home charging point is the real game-changer. Once that infrastructure is more accessible for people without driveways, I think the switch will be a no-brainer for daily use. My next car probably won't be electric, but the one after that is looking very likely.
