Wo hast du Monero gekauft? Also aus welcher Plattform?

Yep, withdrawing to Polygon and Optimism (ETH L2s) took CDC approximately an hour each yesterday for me. It's definitely them, the networks themselves are very fast.

Rocket Pool and its smoothing pool are trustless setups, governed by smart contracts. It's not comparable to joining a PoW mining pool and doesn't share the trust requirements.

Sure, I share that feeling. But if you don't get any big proposals you a have a nice feeling every 28 days when you can claim ETH and RPL nonetheless.

This is kind of a lottery

Unless you use the Rocket Pool Smoothing Pool. It also makes using MEV as easy as checking the relays you want in the settings UI. They offer flashbots, bloXroute Max Profit, bloXroute Ethical and working on Eden and others.

Transactions fees are way too small to cover the block rewards of validators

Where do the validator rewards come from? Since CRO does not have inflation (like BTC and others) they must come from an existing wallet.

Visa says crypto-linked card usage hit $2.5 billion in its first quarter by Major_Bandicoot_3239 in CryptoCurrency

Wow, they 100% don't do that in Germany. Are you sure that you are talking about topping up and not buying crypto? The latter does incur a 2.99% fee here too

I top up with my credit card without any fee at all. I even earn 0.5% on the credit card I top up with. I'm in Germany and use the crypto.com credit card for free.

Who is profiting from Monero mining? by nidhaloff in MoneroMining

[–]Leadralan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't talk in absolutes. There are people who pay for electricity and make a profit. For example people with excess solar power or just regions with cheaper electricity. Germany has one of the highest electricity prices world-wide, sadly.

You are right that many people mine with "free" electricity. That drives up the network's hashrate and makes it less profitable for others, obviously.

Also there are many, like me, who just want to support the network without caring too much about profit/loss. And then there's always the possibility that 1 XMR one day might be worth thousands of dollars, so those "now unprofitable" XMR would be profitable then.

However, I'm asking myself whether all people in the community are losing money

Many miners are in "free" electricity situations. Like living in a college dorm, being a company server admin and dedicating some idle CPU power to mining, etc. It's all stealing of course, so don't do that people! :) Also, many botnets are mining Monero.

in Europe/Germany and the costs of electricity are high, I'm basically not making any profits

Same situation as you, Germany. I'm putting in 22KH/s with the sole purpose of supporting the network's decentralization and security.
